Hi! Detra,
I have. It came from eating some soup. I had a tummy ache a few mintues after my soup wen tdown, I felt dizzy and lightheaded. Then I had pain in teh middle of my chest followed by the urge to dump. Things just came up on it's own. I felt so much better after it came up and then my tummy and everything else was sore for about three or four days. I try not to get close to mild sweets or or slimfast. They both make me Nausea and gives me Diarrhea. I am learning what not to eat.
Hi Detra:
I also have dumped. My first was with chicken. What is so odd that I can eat Breast, but i dont tolerate drumsticks or thighs. I chewed it up very well, but when I sswallowed it, it felt stuck between my two breast and kept on going up and down. I had to barf, I felt so good afterwards. Also had an experience with a low fat yougurt ice-cream. It was lowfat but i think the sugar got to me. it was horrible. i started sweating like an animal, got dizzy and starte to barf, but nothing came out, i think the ice-cream went right threw. It was nasty. So I dont ever want to try that agian. Also had the same experience with some chicken nuggets from Wendys. Dont want to try that ever agian!!!!
Its a sensation between your breast or chest that doesnt go away and you have to ba.......
Well I hope this helped.
If you feel like food is getting stuck, it may be. I had that same problem last week and I had a stricture. My surgeon wanted to do a scope on me ASAP to dilate the opening back open. I ended up doing it the next morning and I have felt great since.
Today I dumped on milk. I get a very sick feeling, my heart starts to race and I get very sweaty. I ended up just sleeping it off.
Good Luck
Carolyn
That "stuck" feeling is not dumping. Dumping is when you get flu-like symptoms. Shaky, sweaty. dizzy, sleepy and nauseas. You usually have to sleep it off and it can last 30 minutes to several hours. Dumping occurs after too much sugar or fat.
That pain you get at your breastbone, after swallowing something.....that usually means the food was not chewed enough, or it was too dry. Its very painful - practically unbearable (to me) and you have to gag the food back out to get relief - but its not dumping.
I can tell now if something is going to get stuck, and I can even stop myself in mid-swallow and bring it back up to finish chewing. I noticed if I am not paying attention, I have a tendency to not chew things well enough. I thought I had dumped once on mayo that I had mixed with chicken, but I think I just ate too much and felt yucky after. I've noticed that I get extremely sleepy if I eat too much or too fast. I yawn constantly and a short nap helps. I seem to be able to tolerate sugar, although I have only had a small bite of things here and there.
Hi, guys!
I thought that dumping was "the other end," so I went a-searching to verify the answer.
Here you go. Hope this helps!

What is 'Dumping' After Gastric Bypass?
Q: What is "dumping"?
A: Dumping syndrome occurs after gastric bypass when food passes too quickly into the small intestine and is particularly induced when you eat sweet foods. (e.g. simple carbohydrates like sugar and some starches).
Symptoms include: nausea or queasiness, a sense of fullness accompanied by discomfort, cramping, diarrhea, general weakness, profuse sweating, vomiting, and heart palpitations (an increase in heart rate).
Usually the symptoms will subside in about an hour. Most patients find the symptoms are alleviated after they lie down for a while. Dumping syndrome is not dangerous, but as you can tell by the symptoms, it's quite unpleasant.
I had a dumping experience three days ago when I ate some chicken with teryaki (didn't know it had sugar) and I dumped for 8 hours! At least the pain lasted for that long. When I thought it was over, I would have a sip of water and the pain would start up again. Then I was scared of food for a day.

I drink the Carb Countdown milk all the time, I love it, especially the chocolate version. At first I really didn't care for it, but it has more protein and less sugar than skim milk so I really wanted to drink it. What I did was mix it half and half with skim until I got used to just the carb countdown - now i think its yummy. Unfortunately, with as much milk as we're supposed to drink, it gets kind of expensive. I've also tried the Soy chocolate milk and really really did not like it (the first few sips were ok but it had this weird after taste) and I am allergic to whey, thus ends my milk alternative choices. Anyway, I'd say give both a try and see what works for you.
Good luck!
