Trouble getting your protein in???Check this out!
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to tell you of a wonderful product that I have been using since I was progressed from clear liquids. Some of you may already know about it, but for those who haven't... it is called Hood Carb Countdown dairy product. In just one cup serving it has 12g of protein and 100 calories. It really helped me with getting all my protein in, and it tastes wonderful... like a great rich chocolate milk! Locally, I found it at Shop'N Save in the milk aisle. Check it out, it may help those that can't tolerate protein shakes!

Just wanted to say THANKS! I have been having an awful time with protein. The protein shakes that I have tried (Adkins Advantage, Carnation Sugar Free) just gag me. I have been worried that I wouldn't find anything that I could stand. I saw your posting and decided to give it a try. I don't love it - but I can drink it without gagging. Maybe there is hope. Thanks again!
Sharon,
Hi. I hope it helps you out. It is a bit thick, so if it is too thick for you try adding a bit of skim milk to it... just to thin it out a bit plus the milk is good for you! The other night I mixed 1c of it with a scoop of GNC pro performance whey protein(french vanilla), and I microwaved a tbs of peanut butter and then blended it all with my hand blender. It was actually very good, but Just a bit much... I won't be wanting something sweet for a long time! In hindsite I should have added some skim milk, but you know what they say about hindsite! O'well, I drank it all and got in roughly 35g of protein! I am actually rather excited by the different concoctions(sp?) I will be able to make up with the proteins, I am thinking I can make french vanilla into something like egg nog flaver for the holidays! As the other poster said the Nectars are good too. You can mix them with a variety of things. I mixed the lemonade with my pink lemonade crystal light and it was really yummy.
Losing my hair is my biggest fear, it is the only thing I really had going on for me. So, I don't know if it works well or not(some say yes, some say no,) but I personally believe taking biotin along with making sure you get enough protein in helps. Biotin aids the body in processing and breaking down protein, so in theory I feel it will help! I have also noticed it is an ingredient in most vitamins that are labeled for hair, so maybe there is something to it. I look at it this way, it can't hurt!
Good luck and have a great day!
Amber
