Pain when eating

Hi, all, Starting two days ago, I got a sharp pain right between and just below my breasts when I took the first bites of food. Happened again yesterday once and today again, but this time it didn't go away after the first few bites, so I stopped eating. Food type doesn't seem to matter, the first time it was runny cream-of-wheat, the second it was a soft-scrambled eggbeaters egg, this time was purreed spaghetti and meat sauce, all less than 1/2 cup, all after 30 minutes of no drinking, none with sugar (sugar freee homemade spaghetti sauce) all by the rules - I was released to step 3 diet as of two days ago. It doesn't happen every time, and I have no problems with liquids. I'm 15 days post-op - going to try eating some yogurt here in a couple of hours. In the mean time, of course, I'm worried about strictures, leaks and everything else under the sun, but this doesn't fit what Dr. Mikami told me to call him for. Any advice from other post ops? Anyone else go through this?

I had read on the main message board that it helps to take just a couple tiny sips of water prior to eating. This was what a bunch of father out pre-ops were all agreeing helped so that they pouches were not so grouchy. I had the experience of the grouchy puch pain when I tried to eat breakfast yesterday and I had not drank any water that morning. Today, I did have 2 tiny sips of water first before eating and the food went down with no pain. Maybe, ask your doctor if he/she thinks that might help and be okay.

Thank you both! Surgeon thinks I may have a tightening of the anastomosis, but a slight one. They want me to take it easy on the step III food for a few more weeks to try to avoid being scoped to open it back up, say it usually relaxes by 5 weeks or so. I'm supposed to call if it perisists or gets worse.
