2 weeks platea anyone know when it broke?
Deborah,
Yes, I went through the plateau too. I lost 13 lbs in the first 6 days and then 2 lbs over the next two weeks. I was soooo depressed. I felt like I was going to fail at this too. How could I be eating so few calories and still not loose weight? I ate a half of a small baked potato, no butter, sour cream or anything of the sort, and it all seemed to come to a screeching halt. I expected to hit a plateau at some point but I never expected to hit one so soon. But after the two weeks the weight loss resumed and I am down 25 now (10-5). I know that some here have lost around 40 at this point but I started at under 300lbs so I am happy with my 25 at this point. Hang in there. It will start coming off again. Exercise will help, but remember, as you gain muscle your wt loss will slow, initially, because muscle weighs more. But your new muscle will help you to burn the fat more efficiently. Just be psychologically prepared for the scale to stall again. But trading muscle for fat is good and your clothes should continue to feel looser.
Hey there,
I hit the two week plataue....it sucked. I actually gained and relost the same three to four pounds for the two week period. I would lose a pound and then regain four, then lose another pound (ex: lose 1 pound to 45, then gain to 49, then lose to 44), then regain three pounds. If you don't mind some TMI - part of the problem was I became really constipated. I tried everything and eventually only prune juice helped. I also started my period, so that didn't help.
Anyway, things get better. The day the plataue broke I lost three pounds. Then its been about a pound a day since then. As of today (week six heading into seven), I've lost 40 pounds. I did a mini-platue for a few days this week, but I was also retaining water so...just hang in there. It seems like there are lots of ups and downs, at least for me, in the first few weeks - but I kept in mind that I was eating so much less than what I used to, there was no way in the world I wasn't gonna lose weight. Just making sure I kept losing weight, how much and if I keep it off - thats all up to me. But to kick start it - its been covered. Just relax and go with the flow.
All my best,
Rach
Deborah, I know how you feel. I had my surgery 1 day before you. Had lost about 20 lbs in 10 days. Then just had my doc appointment yesterday and was only down 3 lbs in 2 weeks. He told me to make sure that I get all the water and Protein in and to start walking more and I should get past it. Good Luck!
