Can any one help?

Hi alll- Well I had my surgery on the 18th everything was great until this past week. I have a cold and a lot of sinus crud was/is draining into my pouch. Well then if i tried to eat i would throw up. And now i can only have hot tea to stay down. I will throw up cold water even. Does any one know why????? I called the dr and they said that sense i can keep the tea down lets wait it out a little while..... Is this just me???? It seems so unreal at times. I have lost a lot of weight at this point but i think this is cause i can not eat.... So what good is it to be thin if i can not keep anything down? Dawn surg date 10-18-04 down 38 pounds

hi there i had mine on the 22nd sooo your a lil further out then me but a friend of mine thats over 6 months out now said she had a bout of not being able to keep anything down too for about two weeks then it just went away. She also had a cold and sinus things too...maybe its just that form here on out colds will have a punch like that for us. Dont know about you but if our tummies are the size of our thumbs and our sinuses are filling em up completly if i was a tummy id prolly throw up anything that was put in too give it some time as long as you can drink the tea leave it at that for a week or two and see if your pounch gets happier. We still have alot of reserves to draw on yet sooo i wouldnt worry terribly over it unless you couldnt drink also. Chin up girl it will get better

Hey Dawn, If you have a primary care physician, you might want to see if you can get something to stop the drainage. As long as it is draining it will fill up that pouch. Sip on that hot tea all through the day. If you have to call your surgeon back and see if he/she could recommend something for you sinus drainage. You need it. Hang in there..it will get better...debbie

Hello Dawn, i had the same problem at about 2 weeks out. But i was throwing up all day from the drainage. My doc suggested Afrin nose spray, It worked wonderfully, The drainage stopped immediately. But i also ended up with a stricture and had to be hospitalized twice from dehydration from not eating or drinking, so dont let it go too long because you sure dont want to get dehydrated. chas-55
