Just wanted to let all my friends know I am finally home!! I had quite an ordeal and was hospitalized for almost the entire month of October. This is my first posting, so bear with me. I had my gastric by-pass on Oct. 4. All went well until I had an asthma attack while under anesthesia for this procedure. This procedure was finished and taken care of and then they came and told me I had a hernia and my inestine has looped up into the bowel causing an obstruction!! A few hours later, I was back in surgery to repair the hernia.. and then the worst, pneumonia. Last but not least, I aspirated into my chest and had massive infection going on. From here on, I knew nothing. I was in intensive care for about 12 days on life support. All my family was called in and my husband was told I wasn't going to make it!! Well, I did, and here i am. My recovery has been very slow since being on life support for so long, my body is suffering from no muscle mass and I am to say the very least, very weak. I have been working with a P/T twice a week trying to rebuild some strength and I know I will get there...it is just gonna take me longer. I am so thankful for all the kind words and prayers from each and every one of you. To date, I have lost 44 lbs and am so excited!! It has truly been a hard road so far, but with my determination, I know I will get there. I have to go and rest but will be back soon. Love to all!! Kathy

Kathy, I am so glad you fought like a tiger and beat the odds. I will keep you in my prayers and ask God to give you strength beyond your imagination. I know He has a plan for you. Get some rest and slowly do more and more each day. Take it slow. You have been through so much and you don't need to ru**** Yes, I know they tell us to walk so many times a week and so far, but that is for those that have no complications. Thinking of you each day...Debbie
