WOW ARE WE ALL ON THE OTHER SIDE NOW?
hi there just wondering if we are all on the other side and if everyone has checked in ...Its been a heck of a ride soo far with the anxiety and nervousness and excitement hasnt it. Now with the nervousness behind us for the most part i guess now we have to look forward to trying new foods loosing weight and reestablishing who we are and who we can be. Each day i feel alot stronger each day i feel a lil more comfortable. How is everyone doing and feeling? Has anyone had a wow moment? Ill share my wow moment just a week out of surgery down 20 lbs i decided for the heck of it to try on a satin nightgown i had that I had tried on previous to going for surgery, I DID get it on however it tore on one spot as it well was tooo darn tight to put my body in it and it looked downright silly. I tried it on 1 week out and it went over me easily and fell perfectly. This totally amazed me i ran downstairs saying hun hun look look do you see this,,,,this actually fits ohmygo**** fits I was deleriously happy the rest of the day. Wonder what it will feel like to fit into say a 12 I can only imagine
well CONGRATS to all of us Good luck goes out from the bottom of my heart to each and everyone of my october sibblings and I pray this year if a great one with many changes for the better for us all as we begin our journey on the loosers bench
kindest regards

So far the other side is great... I was a little discouraged due to the slow weight loss, but I just got off my period and I was pretty bloaded... I am now down 19 lbs (3 weeks out tomorrow)... yippee... I feel so much better... Before I had my WLS I did Weigh****chers about a year before and lost 53 lbs... I went from 315 to 262.... then I stopped for whatever reason and then I lost my job, etc... I gained 36 lbs back.... so before WLS I was 298... needless to say a lot of my clothes did not fit anymore... I have a whole wardrobe that I was waiting to get back into... I tried on a pair of jeans yesterday that I could no longer wear and I got them on... they are still a little tight, but I'm sure that will change shortly... I did wear them all day and was so excited! Good luck to you all!
I am back to work full time today. Tomorrow will be 4 weeks out. I also spent one nite in ICU, then 5 more days in hospital. NO pain, no complications, did great. Now trying to learn how to eat. Very little hunger. Still can't eat bread, but do good with soups, yogurts, milks, shakes, cereal...never did like water, so that is a tough one...
I am so relieved and feel so blessed to have survived this and am on the way to health again! Down 30# in 4 weeks....
Love to all my October siblings!!

Hi there.
I am also doing great. I had surgery 3.5 weeks ago and have lost 18 pounds and a whopping 22 inches. I am very excited about this. I went to Walmart and they had some size 14 skirts, shorts and shirts on the rack for $5.00, so I bought some with the intention of putting them in the closet for a later day and when I got home, my 14 yr. old daughter said "Mom, those will fit you, try them on" so I did and everything I got fit me. I was a size 20 the day of surgery. How exciting.
Hope everyone else is having as wonderful of a journey as I am...

I have crossed over as of 10/22 at 348lbs so I am 12 days out 25lbs lost and feeling good.
since my surgery I have had not one complaint about my aching feet or swelling which makes me so happy cause some days I couldnt walk with or without shoes or sneakers. I went to my first support group meeting last night and it was great to meet so many women who have accomplished their goal with WLS made me feel even more like I made the right decision.
I havent started the trying on of the old clothes yet lol and I was thinking of doing that last night but said I will wait til the weekend and go thru the whole closet.
Have any of u decided what you will do with your old wardrobe as you lose the weight? I was thinking to donating it to OH or if there are recommended places to donate I would love to know about them.
Deborah,
I am on the other side...Oct 18... like thinking about it that way, I am down 18 lbs and stared at 260. My clothes definetely feel looser but I am scared to put on anything too small for fear it will be tight and , boom, MOOD SWING!! I am famous for those. The hospital stay was awful, lonely and scary, but I made it through and am concentrating on drinking all tha****er and trying to keep up with my kids. Good luck to you, it helps for us all to be in this together!
