4 days post op & doing well
The first day was rough. I remember waking & having the worst backache of my life & feeling like I did 2000 ab crunches. Horrible. Thank god for morphine. on the the second day my IV pulled back & filled my hand full of water about double the size of my other hand. Pretty minor complication. Conveinently i was able to take a real shower. Only problem is that they could not get anothe IV started & went without pain meds for 3 hours. I became a bit grouchi but quickly overcame it after an oral dose of perkeset. GOOD DTUFF! The rest of my stay was awsome. I spent just 2 nights, I was able to drink protein shakes & water & was able to walk decently. The staff was really wonderful & I am home with new hopes of a thinner & healthier life. So far so good! I feel great & have no real desire to eat or munch. I hopped on the scale & have lost 9 lbls and am officially a looser. I am crazy with excitement. I hope the rest of you scheduled about the same time as me have had good experiences also. Best wishes to all of you.
Hi Charlene, I tried to wait to weigh too, but curiosity got to me. My tummy was feeling a bit flatter than usual. I was wondering if you had laposcopic surgery? I too am sore in the back & upper abbs.Bit weird enough, no incision pain.I went for a walk today...outside. It was really good. Hurt a little by the time i got back but not bad. We live near a lake & i really wanted to see it. So i walked about 7 blocks each way. I found out that it was a bit uphill on the way back. Had to take little breaks but was well worth the break from home. I noticed we have close BMI's. mine is 43.9 & I am 5'31/2". I would love to see a pic of you befor you get all skinny on us. Keep posting on you progress. The support page has been a little neglected lately. We all need a good dose of spirit i think. best of luck & glad you are feeling well.

Hi Laurie,
I had 5 people email me who were having surgery on Oct 25 th. Besides you I have only heard from Ann since surgery. She is doing fine also. I hope everyone posts so we know they are doing well. I have not set up a personal page of info. I began at 5'0 and 237 lbs. in July. With a lot of effort I was done to 202 lbs. at my last visit to my WLS surgeon on the 20th of Oct. Dr Duncan makes his patients lose a certain amount of weight prior to surgery. I was suppose to lose 10-15 lbs, however, I started a high protein and vitamin diet so that I would bounce back easily.
Keep in touch,
Charlene
