Ok, I have read everyone's posts and they are all losing weight. I had surgery on Oct. 12th and have only lost 15 lbs... I have only lost 1 lb in the past 5 days or so... I have been doing what I am supposed to... eat 6 times a day, getting in all of my protein, drinking lots and lots of water, walking, walking, walking... when will I start losing again? Help!!!

Hi ! I also had the surgery the 12th. As of this morning I have lost 20 but like you, I feel that isn't very much. I have checked around and most people really seem to get major weight loss after about 4 - 6 weeks. I hope we start soon, huh? It is very frustrating but I am having lots of energy so I guess I will focus on that. Good luck Carol

Well the last time I weighed myself was Monday morning. I had to have my husband hide the scale because it is too tempting to step on it every day! I will weigh myself again on Saturday... hopefully I will be down at least another 5 pounds... I have lost 11 1/4 inches so that is good... my pants fit better now...

Hi Jennifer, I am pretty new at this, so I am not exactly sure how it works but I do know it is strange. I had surgery on the 19th and 4 days later I had lost roughly 15lbs. This number was the same when I weighed myself at the 1 week point. Then the next day I thought 'what the heck, I will check again' and to my suprise I had lost 5 more lbs. So, I believe your weight loss will sneak up on you before you even know it. Also, I noticed another thing... even when the scales don't move inches do decrease, no more water weight being lost!!!! Good luck and keep up the good work! -Amber

I can deffantly tell I am loosing inches. I heard the ones who slow looser to start off will pick up and loose faster... and the ones who loose fast in the start will slow down.

Hi Jennifer! I had my surgery on 10/11 and had only lost 1/2 lb at my one week check up. I do not know what I have lost now, I don't own a scale and will find out on the 9th when I go for my 1 month checkup. The doctor said I had not lost because they had to give me so much fluids after surgery. They had to do open at the last minute because of adhesions on my lower intestines. I know I have lost inches because I can reach places I haven't reached in years!! I can actually reach behind me and scratch the lower middle back!! I've been told by everyone here to hang in there and it will happen. I hope your weight loss starts up again soon. Christ's peace, Connie (-?)

Congrats on your weight loss thus far. However, I'm gonna have to because it's far too soon for you to start labeling and comparing yourself. We will all lose in time. You seem to be doing everything correctly and sometimes it just takes a little time for your body to get with the program. I refuse to allow myself to be a slave to the scale. I figure I did not weigh myself daily as I was gaining weight and i'm not going to do it now. It's just too easy to fixate on those things. My primary goal (and maybe yours) was to become healthier and I can feel myself feeling better everyday. That's not to say I would be happy six months from now to be only 30lbs lighter but I know that my pouch rules not me. Hi Jennifer I also had my surgery on 10.12.04, and can really understand where you are coming from. On my 1st visit I had lost 14 lbs, since 10.18.04 I've only lost 3 lbs., so I know right where you are coming from. But I just keep telling myself this will work and I need to give it some time. I know it's hard when you weight your self and think you are going to be down and your not. But I think you are doing a great job! Keep up the good work and it will come off. (and keep up w/othes messurements that will help). Good Luck! Sherrie, -17 lbs

Hi there.. I can relate - I had Lap RNY Oct 20. My first visit post op was Oct 25 and I GAINED 3 lbs!!! Now, I knew it was not anything I was doing since I was out of the hospital only 2 1/2 days. It was IV fluid, swelling, drainage and the fact that I was taken off my diuratic (water pill). My next visit was 3 days later, Oct 28, 8 days post op, and I lost 11 lbs from my pre-op weight. I too am getting restless but I know it will come off.. It HAS to with what we are eating. I'm taking my measurements because, that is really what I want to see come down. Keep in touch and good luck!

I was banded on October 12th. No complications, I feel fine. I've been on real food for awhile - a little scrambled egg, bean/cheese burrito (1/2 of a small one), popcorn, tuna, fish taco, steamed veggies, cheese, crakers.... these are some of the things that I have eaten. I know I have not eaten very much on any given day but I have gained 5 pounds since my one week post op check in! I had my first fill yesterday of 1.5 cc's - AAAK!!!! It is so discouraging. I have lost 20 pounds all together since consult - but gaining this 5 pounds makes me a little crazy! Thanks in advance for any help and or advice. anita
