1 week post op
I just wanted to let everyone know that today I'm one week post op and am down 23 lbs. I'm so happy and was considered a 'textbook' patient. I've been able to get in all my protein (finding a protein shake that you can tolerate is half the battle), walking everyday, and taking all my vitamin supplements. I hope all the October surgeries go without a hitch and best of luck to all of you!!
Congrats to you Shelley J and I wish you all the best of luck. I am over 1 1/2 years out and doing well, but this battle will be there every step of the way and it doesn't get easier. No matter what others say. Each and every day is a reminder of what was and what could be and WHAT YOU MAKE IT. It is just not a physcial problem of just being overweight, you must deal with the mental part of it later and thank the one that holds your hand at night and then realize you have to hold theirs back for all they have been through while you were finding the new, healther you. Trust me take each day as a new one and keep yourself on the straight and arrow road and life will be roses each day even it is raining.
You will find energy you never thought possible and take it slow in the beginning and then when you feel like 100% then let yourself go and enjoy life. It will be a long journey in the beginning but it is truly worth it when you bend down to pick something up and realize you have not died from not being about to catch your breath or sit down in a small set on the air plane or ball game and there is ROOM on each side of you.
I truly wish you the best of luck with life and the new, healthier you
