Am I Overeating Already?
One week post op w/a 30cc pouch and I feel like I can still get my relatively get my eat on (I know it's mental). Of course, I'm still on a liquid/puree diet but it still seems like I'm able to get too much in ... like an entire 4oz jello cup/mashed potatos/yogurt in 5 minutes. I really don't know I've had too much until my stomach starts "hurting". I hope I am not stretching my pouch this early in the game (and can you even do that on liquids) and it seems like every profile I read, people were barely able to get 2oz in at this point in their WLS journey.....
Post ops, please advise, are you able to get this much in w/out difficulty ....

Hello, I was wondering the same thing so I am glad you posted this, I can eat a full 4 oz. of anything. I just eat it w/ in a half hour because I was told to eat and wait three minutes before the next bite. So far I have had peanut butter, sugar free pudding, sugar free pops, creamy soups, broths and yogurts and have done well. Today I am going to try an egg, my surgeon told me I could pretty much eat anything as long as it is in a creamy consistency and contains lots of protein.
The liquids leave your pouch pretty quickly so it feels like you have room for more. I was the same way until I started eating solids. I can't even finish a whole egg, or one Boca Burger now. When I was in the hospital, I coudl eat my entire tray! ALL the broth, jello and juice at one time. I am sure you will find that you don't have the room for more when you start solids.

Dear Toni: Slow down girl where's the race. I make it take me 20 to 25 minutes to consume that amount of food. You are stretching things. The idea is to eat slower. Are you sure you should have mashed potatoes? Call your nutritionist and talk to her. Just my opinion. Please don't eat until you hurt!!!!! Slow down and savor each bitty bite!!! Get yourself out of the kitchen where all the temptation is!!!
