I'm home after killing 3 birds with one stone!!!
Hello everyone! I had my surgery Tuesday afternoon and came home Friday. I can not believe how good I feel. I have so much more energy than I expected. I almost feel as though I didn't have surgery, only did way too many sit-ups! During my surgery my surgeon found a hernia and took care of it, so I had a hernia repair, RNY, and gallbladder removal! I feel wonderful and my only concern is that Sat. morning at 7 I awoke with the expected gas and a loose bowel movement. I have had quite a few of those since then, but from what I understand I shouldn't be concerned... it is to be expected with the gallbladder removal.
I really can't believe it! I am on the losing side and feeling great. I have lost about 15lbs. so far. I seem to have no trouble getting all of my liquids in. My surgeon said I was her 'star' patient! I am so relieved! I realize this is just the beginning and I have a long road ahead of me, but what a wonderful beginning. I couldn't ask for anything more!
I have to say, it is a little weird watching all the food commercials on tv. I now understand what I have read so much about.... head hunger! My surgeon doesn't even allow puree's until 2 weeks post op, so I am enjoying my water, broth, popsicles, juice, jello, and misc. other clear liquids. Doctor knows best!
My journey seeking weight loss surgery came to fruition after about a year and a half and I can't believe it is done and my new journey has begun. I am so happy I had that long to prepare and educate myself. I am so happy right now!!!
Thank you everyone for all of your support! Your prayers were heard and granted for me! I am so thankful. I know I am not 'out of the woods' yet, I still am at high risk of blood clots and pnemonia... but I shall walk those woes away!!!!
Congratulations to everyone who has had surgery up until now, and I wish a totally uneventful surgery to everyone who's day is yet to come!
Thanks again everyone!
