Staple inflamation

12 days post-op. My staples are due to be removed on Wednesday, the 20th. But I noticed yesterday that they are getting inflamed. Not the incision, just the staple punctures. Is this normal? Anybody else seen this? Do I need to be worried?

i am sorry i cant answer that i would check in with the doc. my staples were removed before i left the hospital. but good luck and dont worry to much its probably normal.

Hello, I just had the same issue and was lucky to have had mine taken out yesterday. (wished they had been taken out in the hosp.) My Dr. didnt seem concerned about it but it was getting uncomfortable so I can feel your pain. I hope you can hang on until you get back to have them taken out. My surgery was on 10/12 also and I'm type2 so I wondered it that might have something to do with it. But like you my incision lines where fine. He took them out and said continue to shower as normal/regularly. I hope you are doing good and it will be fun when they let you know just how much you have lost.
