Consultation Today with MD - How long does it take for Ins. Approval?

Today (This afternoon) I meet with the Doc. for the first time. I am keeping my fingers & toes crossed that everything goes OK and I am approved for the sx. soon. How long does it normally take for the Insurance Co.(Blue Cross) to approve & authorize the surgery?
