Tomorrow is the day for me
Hi, my surgery was one week ago today. So I can tell you what little I know. Surgery itself is a non-existent memory for me. When I checked into the hospital there was prepping to do, getting the IV started, etc. Once they wheel you into surgery and put you on the table, you aren't aware of anything until it's all over. And the recovery isn't bad from the surgery, but I had lots of problems recovering from the anesthesia. Yuck. However, my roommate had no problems whatsoever! I told her she's the poster child for WLS. She felt great, was up and about, was cheerful, and happy altogether. I couldn't have asked for a better roommate, even though I was a tinge jealous that I wasn't doing as well. . But I'm sure you will be just fine. Just keep thinking about how things will be for you a year from now.
I am a week out as well. I hurt good for a couple of days, but I also had some back pain adding to my front pain, which made sleeping difficult. Whatever your pain tolerance, it gets easier each time you move and the discomfort lessens each day. At 7 days I'm feeling pretty good and already down 15 lbs. It is wierd and exciting. I am doing small things around the house and indulging in some movie rentals in between. Just remember why you chose this path in the first place and look at others who have traveled it. We all walk towards a better future and a healthier life. God bless you tomorow. Good luck,
Jill
