I'm home, too!
I had my surgery on Oct. 5 and I got home today. I didn't have any problems with the surgery itself, but the anesthesia really did me in. I was so nauseous and dizzy. It was really icky. But I already knew I had a problem with anesthesia, so it didn't come as a shock, just a nasty reminder.
I was discharged at 9:00 am today, and arrived home just after 5:00 pm. It was a LONG day, and a long drive home. It feels so good to be home. The hospital is not a place to get any rest! If it's not the staff waking you up, it's other patients or their visitors. Last night I got a new roommate at 11:30 pm. By the time they got her settled in and turned out the lights, it was after 3:00 am. I know it's not anyone's fault, it's just the life of a hospital. But I'm so glad to be out of there!
The walking is good, and I'm able to sip, but it seems like that's all I do! Speaking of sipping.......gotta go again!
