Hi Mayra! Here's my go at your questions
1- Did your Doctor recommend a pre-op diet?
YES!!!! As soon as you get your surgery date you're supposed to start a Low-Carb/High Protein Diet (basically the Atkins diet). Then, two weeks before your surgery date you are supposed to start a High Protein Partial Liquid Diet which is where you replace two meals with a shake (either Atkins or Slim Fast Low Carb). The meal that you do eat has to be high protein, little to NO carbs. The logic behind all of this is to shrink your liver down b/c a lot of overweight folks have enlarged livers that can get in the way during surgery. I've stuck to the diet for the most part but cheating here or there hasn't bothered me much considering how many people I know who are NOT on a Pre-Op diet.
2- What are you taking to the hospital?
What I wear in I will plan to wear out...
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Hair Brush
"Butt Wipes"
Robe & Slippers
Wallet w/ID & insurance card
*My cell phone & charger is going to Ocala with me but perhaps not to the hospital. I will hand it over to my family to be charged at the hotel and they can carry it.
3- What pre-op foods did you buy?
I bought crystal light Peach Tea, SF jello, SF puddings, broths, boullion cubes to make my own broth, creamed soups that I can strain, SF Tang, SF Popcicles.
4- What will be your "last meal"?
I don't quite know considering I did this before I started the Pre-Op diet. I had a turkey dinner, like Thanksgiving early...but I think I will eat good when I go up for my Pre-Op...Golden Corral.

1. No diet. Same as you.
2. Robe, no gown (Dr.'s receptionist says I won't need it), bikini panties,(having open RNY), pants I can roll down, big shirt, no bra, tooth brush, misc. other toiletries, hair dryer, cpap machine, husband, books, phone card, address book, pics of my kids.
3. SF Tang, Crystal light, SF Jello, SF popsicles, chicken broth, apple juice, cranberry juice, Centrum chewables, Tums, Isopure zero carb/high protein drinks.
4. Can't decide. Getting nervous and food isn't appealing right now.
