After Surgery...
My suegery is Oct. 13 and I know that the surgery process is going to be difficult and I know that I'm going to be hurting but I'm curious to find out from people that's already had the surgery how they felt after waking up from surgery? For some odd reason that is my biggest worry. I guess I'm wanting to know how much pain I'm really going to be in? Any input and comfort would be much appreciated.
Thanks alot,
Christie
Hi there Christie.....I had the surgery on 9-20-04..I had the same fears as you. But when I woke up I was so foggy that I really didn't feel any pain at first. After about 4-5 hrs I started feeling pain but it was'nt unbearable because you do have a morphine drip!!!! I was released from the hospital the next day....the ride home was ruff because of all the darn potholes..(they do hurt so bring a pillow or something to put up against your tummy for alittle more support). I really did feel like hiding that day. Honestly the 1st and 2nd day home from the hospital were the worst (not horrible but very uncomfortable) and everyone is different...it all depends on how you tolerate pain!!! Just rememeber this is temperary the pain will go away and then we are all on to a brand new life. Good luck with you upcoming surgery and keep me posted on your return home and how you feel. It's gonna be great!!!!!!
your wls buddy,
