BREATHING QUESTION IMPORTANT

I am scheduled for oct 19th and for the last couple of weeks my broncitis has flared up. I sound like i have a croopy cough I cough about once every half hour more if something tickles my throat. I do not feel sick or have any fever or anything. I was sick with the flue a month ago and my broncitis flared up as a result. I have the puffers and a perscription for antibiotics that I didnt take from before nova something it says on em 500 mgs. Can they or will they cancel cause of broncitis or shortness of breath even though your lungs are clear????

Sometimes I've needed antibiotics to clear up the lungs after a cold. It is better if you can get the bronchitis cleared before surgery, I think.

You bet, they will absolutely cancel if you any breathing issues. YOu have 2 weeks to get better, though, so call your PCP and see what they can do for you....my allergies are bothering me, and i am worried that a stuffy nose will be a problem for me next week! Wouldn't that just be the luck!!!

I have the same problem. Surgery is next tuesday and I started up with bronchitis last monday. I went right in and since I don't have 10 days for anitbiotics they put me on 5 days of zithromax. I took 3 rounds of something last fall that didn't clear it up but now 3 days into my zithromax I am symptom free. And it's not tearing up my gut. But get in and try to get your infection cleared up. At least call your doctor before you begin taking the old antibiotics. Just a little preaching, you should always finish up your antibiotis even if you feel better unless you doctor tells you to stop. Ok, done preaching.(forgive me, it's the health care worker in me). But make sure he is going to put you on the same thing before you begin taking them. Good luck with getting it cleared up in time. Jill
