What a L O N G hard battle with CIGNA this has proven to be! But I got the result I worked so hard for. We had to switch from LapBand to Laproscopic VBG --I am wondering about two things... First how long were people in the hospital and second, how long was it before returning to work? I'd been concentrated on the other surgery for so long, and now I don't feel as prepared as I could. Any feedback would be really helpful. Thanks in advance. P.S. I am VERY excited!!!!

Hey Julaine, I don't have any answers to your questions, but I did want to say congrats on your date and welcome you to the board.

Julaine, I believe the hospital (1-2 days) and recovery time (back to work in 1-2 weeks) are the same as for LAP-Band. Not absolutely sure. There is another board for VGB in this website and I found a profile you can look at to read about her experiences (she is almost 1 year post op LAP VGB). Go to WLS Home on the left side click on Meet Local Peers and type in Chute and then click on Sharon Chute. Hope this helps, Presh

Congratulations on your surgery date! I have the same surgery date as you. I was originally scheduled for 10/12, but Dr. T called today and rescheduled as he has a conference to go to. I am frustrated about it, but what can you do. Good luck with your surgery. Take care. Rachella
