Pre-Op Blood Work ?
Hey all,
Quick question - I went in for my pre-op physical last Monday and got the paper work in the mail today. I am scheduled for my surgery on Friday October 1st. The doc who did the testing wrote that he would like me to come back to re-evaluate. Below are the #'s in question:
RBC (red blood count) 5.31 H [3.70-5.20]
Electrolytes:
CO2 21 L [23-33]
Sodium 136 L [137-147]
Liver Tests
ALT 101 H [0-65]
AST 55 H [0-45]
Thyroid 8.02 H [.20-5.50]
As far as the liver and thyroid #'s are concerned, I'm not worried about that, the doc's and I have already discussed them prior to my physical and determined that they would go ahead with the surgery. What I am wondering is if anyone else had some off #'s on their pre-ops and still went ahead with the surgery?? None of them seem sooo off chart that it would make a bit of difference - but if someone out there has any knowledge in this kind of information....I could be patient and just wait until Monday to talk to my surgeon - but hopefully y'all understand the nerves!
Just looking for a bit of comfort, one way or the other - I'd like to know what to kind of expect come Monday.
Thanks a bunch,
Rachel
