I was thinking that it may be a good idea if everyone came up with a checklist of what we will be needing at hospital and afterwards for a lil while. Prehaps if enough people do this then it will make all our lists to do and get simplier. Many minds are better then 1 ill start. Please put down something if its not here that you are thinking is important to bring or pick up Slippers houscoat toothbrush paste comb lipbalm book wordpuzzles crystal lite jello

I have founds lots of suggestions... Fan Clock handcream baby wipes (work for bottom and face and hands) almost everyone says you won't use a book or puzzles,,,too groggy no food/drink- hospital provides it all your own pillow notepad and pencil to write down questions for doctor/thoughts, etc... comfortable, soft jogging type bra sanitary pads (lots of gals get their period after surgery) Walkman/CD's/radio

Your best bet would be to try samples, and not to buy the big ole tubs. Almost all post ops I've talked to have told me that their taste buds changed after surgery. good luck Renee*

Hey Deborah, Not sure if this works or not, but I heard that some people take listerine strips to put in their mouth at the time of the leak test. Don't know if I would want to do that though. My friend is a post-op and here is a list of things she shared with me for the week before surgery. Some form of daily exercise, about 20 minutes. Deep breathing practice. Stop all meds containing Aspirin. Pig out 5 to 7 days before surgery. Pack suitcase, comfy clothes and protien drinks. Take meds to hospital...liquid loratab, for the trip home. Her doc provides each patient with a bari-bear, used to help with coughing after surgery. Has anyone purchased one? I'm thinking about it.

More info to share! 7-12-04. I bought most of my vitamins and supplements from WalMart. Equate Children's Chewable Vitamins w/Iron - $3.57 for 60 Cheaper than Flintstones and are the same thing. I know a lot of people prefer the gummy vitamins. B12 500mcg - Rexall Sublingual - $3.96 for 200 I only got these to start because my PCP wants me to have the shots. But my first appointment with her is 4 weeks after my surgery, so I wanted to have something until then. She is going to start me on the shots at her office, then later I would be giving them to myself. B Complex/B1 50 mg - Spring Valley Super B Complex - $3.96 for 200 I got the Super B Complex because it had 50 mg more of B1 than the regular B Complex, so I killed 2 birds with one stone. These are tablets, but I bought a combination pill splitter/crusher for about $5. I will have to crush my other meds, so I can crush this one, too. I ordered Up-CalD powder from Vitalady.com - 22.99 and yes, it is calcium citrate. I also ordered and from: www.Unjury.com - 6 travel packs (individual packs) of unflavored. www.Bariatriceating.com - 2 Isopure samples ($1.75 each) and Nector Vacation sample pack (5 Fuzzy Navel and 5 Roadside Lemonade - $12.50). www.Wlssupplies.com - 7 Isopure samples ($1.60 each). ww.txwls.com - offers about 75 different samples including sf syrups Call 1-866-333-7403 and get free samples of roadside lemonade protein or fuzzy navel. I got one sample of each. You can order sugar free syrup from www.davincigourmet.com to add to the shakes.
