Hello my surgery date is October 22nd
Hey Capri,
I don't have a reply as such, but I would like to tag along on your question as I have a surgery date of Oct 21st and am wondering the same thing. I also want to know if anybody is planning on bringing their own pj's? I hate those huge gowns, but I wonder with all the stuff they will do (cath, drain, leg compressions, etc.), I wonder if it will be practical. When I was in the hospital with my last child I brought my own pj's and I felt so much more normal. Especially when people came to visit me! What does everyone else think about that? I also heard from lots of other posts that people say to bring chap stick (number one thing), a small fan (don't quite know why), and pillows if you can't sleep with others people's pillows. I would also bring an eyemask to keep out the light from the room or hallway and some earplugs to keep out the noise. Nurses have the best intentions, but in the middle of the night they are just pests! No offense to nurses out there Anyway, I hope this gives you a few answers although I haven't had my surgery yet and you might try posting on the state messageboard where more people go for post op support. They would be better able to answer that question. Good luck on your surgery and I will pray for you.
Hey Ms. Capri
You are in my neck of the woods. I live in and work very close to Gardena. My surgery date is October 13th. My Mom had surgery on the 8th of September. She tok her own pillow, and some PJs but she said the hospital gowns were so comfortable, so she didnt wear her stuff. I saw all the ladies walking around in the hospital gowns.
Congratulations on your big day
Hello Capri,
My surgery date is October 28th -- However, my roommate had surgery in April. She packed a big bag full of things and never even opened it! She wore the gown the whole time. I would agree with the other posts and bring mostly hygene products and things that will make you more comfortable.
