Oct. 5th, here I come!!!

I am sooo excited that I finally, after 18 months< got my insurance referral!!!! I am a little nervous about the recovery after(I have a 9 yr old and 2- 5yr. old here!) surgery, but I am a strong and sturdy woman!! I have alot of family support and they are the ones worrying about the surgery complications. I have so many health complications with my life now, I am use to dealing with health issues. It will be a long and hard road, but change worth incurring is so often hard and bumpy. I look forward to hearing from those going down the same path and those who have been through this. Does your Dr. have you on a program prior to surgery? Mine has us on a 6 week liquid 800 cal. diet , then we have the surgery(open). I have 2-3 days a week during this peiod and 1 time a week after surgery where we go to group sessions and learn how to cope, eat.../ Alos part of the froup is a support phase. Janee Cain

I don't know yet, I find all of that out this week. He does require some sort of support group, either at his hospital or the one closer to my house (he is 2 hrs away!) I think I find out after my preop work whether or not I am having a liquid diet (I'm having the Lap RNY)
