Topic: Gotta Protein Bar Recipe?
There are a lot of resonably priced protein bars now. Quaker Q-Smart or Post Carbwell for example. I've decided to work on my own home made version to see if I can get more protein in with less cost.
So, does anyone have a protein bar recipe? I haven't found a great one surfing the net yet.
I'm working on my own but so far my efforts have been eatible but not very tasty. I baked a batch with Total protein cereal, peanut butter, eggs, splenda, protein powder, milk, and oatmeal. 300 calories, 23g protein, 23 carbs, 13 fat per serving.
I've found it's easy to create something with 850 calories and 30g protein. Think a loaded rice krispy treat or corn flake peanut butter bar. It's hard keeping the calories down.

I'm happy for you. Nice car. I considered one all the way up until I sat down in the driver's seat. Some things just can't be changed. I'm in my normal weight range now but I'm still 6'4" tall. I banged my knees on the bottom of the dashboard working the pedals. Sigh! Oh well, I'm gonna go with a ragtop. Most likely the 2005 Toyota Solara Convertible. I test drove a 2004 last week and my wife's comment was, "You look good in that." I'm certain you look great in your Crossfire. Enjoy! Get out on the highway. Get your motor running.

HOLY COW - who would EVER have thought at 38 I would have a mid life crisis! I did/am! So what have I done to help "cure" the crisis?
I bought a hotrod! I have a brand new 2004 Chrysler Crossfire! She's so hot it's unbelievable!!! I can do 95 in 4th gear with 2 more gears to go! It's so nice to fit in the seats and have the little squeezers on the side that actually DON'T SQUEEZE ME!!! YEAH!!!
Anyway, it was expensive, but heck - I'm worth it! Just thought I'd share

Hello!
I haven't posted in a while! I am down 103 lbs. now, I lost 4 lbs. over the month. From 259 to 156. I weigh everyday and some days I gain a lb. then I will lose a lb. I know I need to stop that!!
My life is so much better! I can wear some size 8's now, but mostly 10's.
People tell me that I am radiant, I know that I am much happier and more confident now. I have started doing Winsor Pilates to try to help me get these last few lbs. off.
Some days I struggle with grazing and don't get all my liquids in, but health wise........I no longer have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and my Diabetes is normal! That was my goal, not to look like a super model!
Hugs to all!

Hey, Look at you!!!
Congratulations!
You worked hard to get where you're at. You should be so proud!
I have 50lbs more to go. But, I'm happy with how I feel, now!
So, if I don't lose all of it, it won't be a big deal.
Isn't it a great feeling, knowing that you're not going to gain the weight back? That's what makes me so happy about all of the weight that I've lost so far. I know that I'm not going to see those numbers, again! Take care.

Congratulations.... You are where I want to be. Maybe in another year I'll be there with you. I'm finally where you started at. 109 lbs gone and slowing.. climbing and reaching for the final goal. I'd hoped to be under the 200 lb mark on the scale by my 1 yr anniversary. Not sure I'm going to make that with 57 lbs to lose to get there. But.. make it or not.. I'm just happy the scale is moving in the right direction. Congratulations and keep posting you are an inspiration and great help when I read your success stories.

Just look at us! I'm so proud. We are an amazing group of people!
It was an aughful experience at first, but now...well...AWESOME!!!
I'm putting carbs into my diet now to maintain. I'm still too chicken to tried fried foods or sugar. The thought of it just makes me cringe!

I am officially 2/3 the person I was a year ago. I weighed 282 at my consult on 8/18/03 and 275 on surgery day on 10/8/03. Today I weighed 188!! Hopefully I will make it to my 100 lb loss by my 1 year anniversary. I am amazed at the things I do now! Life is good!

Congratulations!! Great Job! Now for the "hard" part! I'm getting close to goal too, and its been how to maintain that has concerned me the most right from the start. We all just need to keep supporting each other and ebing honest with ourselves and we'll do well!

Hello everyone. Congratulations to us all! My weight loss has seemed very slow ever since surgery, so I am amazed that I have hit the century mark! I gained 2 lbs at the end of July, but lost 3 this week so now I am down 101 lbs, which according to Fitday is right on track. I am feeling great, but do have trouble battling the head hunger. I am so thankful for this second chance at an active life, and very hopeful that I will reach goal!
