Topic: Update on Me
Hi All, Just wanted to let you all know that as of two days ago i am down 93 pounds. I never thought it was possible. I had started back to work, so that means I am out of the house all day and when I come home and clean and cook and get the kids Bathed and get my bath, I am too darned tired to do any snacking. My husband bought me a Bike, without my permission So that means I have been sneaking in a little Bike Riding and I have been drinking at least 3 Protein Drinks a day and have been laying off the Carbs, so I have been soing the Darn Thang and here I am. Just thought I would share the news with you all, since I am always here crying on your shoulders, Ijust thought I would share some good news as well. Thanks for all of your pep talks and support. Love you Guys Adrienne

Congrats, Carolyn!! And good for your husband for his comments back to that jerk of a roofer. I'll bet that guy felt like such a jackass! I, too, have been approved for abdominoplasty/panniculectomy with hernia repair (not from my open rny - rather from the c-section I had two years ago with my daughter). Still no date scheduled yet, either. The damned hernia and hanging pannus are keeping me in a size 22 (still not bad, considering I was a 34/36W!) 'cause I have to buy clothes to accommodate the hernia's massive size! Fortunately, the doc thinks I'll be wearing 14/16s after the work's done. That'd be wonderful, but I'd be THRILLED to be anywhere in the teens! Again, congrats! Let us know when you get a date!!!! Amy

Been a while since I posted to my fellow Oct. 2003 wls buddies, but I had time and wanted to stop by and post. I'm now averaging about 7 lbs/month, which my doctor is pleased with and calls "average" for this far out (surg. 10/22/03). I'm down 139 lbs (263 lbs from 402 lbs WOOHOO!!). Tanya, I can soooo relate to the "struggling". ESPECIALLY when PM****s me about mid month! I crave and get the munchies just like when I was preggers with my daughter. And because I live down south, I've been using the "it's too hot to go out and exercise!" excuse for the past two months, so i know that's slowed me down. But I DO plan to get my butt back to the gym and keep the pounds moving in the right direction! Continued good luck and best wishes to all! Amy

I'm so happy for you, Carolyn! You did it! You accomplished something that others are only dreaming that they can do. I will never regret the decision that I made to have the gastric bypass. I have lost 152lbs., and I only have 50 more pounds to go. Then, I can have MY Tummy Tuck and my arms done! I only wish that the media would show how many more successes there are than the failures of the surgery. It makes people afraid to even consider it. I have set a few people straight with the facts. Maybe someday, the truth will come out, and people won't be so ignorant or afraid. I for one, was more afraid not to have the surgery. Congratulations, again! Your WL Buddy, Jane 362/210

I was approved! For my Abdominoplasty and breast reduction yesterday Will find out later today when it will be scheduled. To date I have lost 127 lb. 275 LB seems like a life time ago. I am so happy. I have not one regret about having the bypass. I have not had one complication. From a size 28 down to a size 10 and that's be for the tummy tuck. The other day my husband and I went to a picnic. There was this guy that had put a new roof on for us last summer. I have not seen him after that. he came up to my husband (the guy had been drinking a few) and said, so you dumped the fat *****y wife and moved up to that hottie. Good for you. Well, my husband said you only got it half right. I dumped half of my wife but not one once of the *****iness. When that guy found out it was me he when around the hole time he was there telling everyone it was me so they would not be as dumb as him. Thanks for reading Carolyn

Hi Jan! Congratulations on your 135lb. loss. That's awesome. I know that you're feeling great! As for chocolate, I never cared for chocolate, so I don't have a problem with it. I love Spicedrops! You have tp remember, whatever we could eat before the surgery, is a microchip, compared to what we eat now. I just have a couple Spicedrops or bite of cake or ice-cream, and I'm satisfied. Sometimes I over do it and I "dump", but for the most part I can handle a small portion of sugars. Take care. Your Wl Buddy, Jane 362/210
Happy 2.

I still eat sweets too. The difference is I don't eat near as many, and I am exercising now. I dump once in a while too. That fear is over my head, so I take it easy. Especially if I am in public. I only eat things I am sure of. Since sweets make me dump sometimes, I don't know when that will be. Therefore, I don't eat them in public. That has helped me too. Karen
