Hi Jane! I was working out (walking a mile or 2) about 1 or 2 times a week on my own, but nothing structured or very hard.
4 weeks ago I joined 24 hour fitness (BIG chain of gyms out West) and signed up for personal training. I've been doing the personal training twice a week for 3 weeks now and LOVE it! It's really expensive ($300 for 6 sessions) but it totally keeps me motivated. I may not buy another group of sessions because of the money, but I have really enjoyed it so far!
I have seen HUGE results already in 3 weeks. I go to the gym 5 days a week where I do my weights for 45 minutes, then 40 minutes of cardio (either eliptical, upright bike (recumbant is toooo easy) or treadmill) then sometimes I'll time it go I can take water aerobics after all that. I also take Yoga there once a week.
I feel AMAZING! my body is so much stronger, it has helped so much with my energy levels and with falling asleep at night.
I don't think working out with help with my excess skin, but it just makes my body look stronger and more toned instead of incredibly sloppy.

i'm working on Monday so I can take an extra vacation day whenever I want to. I'll be at the gym Friday for personal training, then going out to a lovely local irish bar that night. Saturday more workouts and hopefully there will be nice weather for a run outside! Sunday MORE workouts and hopefully some sleep, then monday work!
Typical weekend for me I suppose, nothing out of the ordinary, but getting ready for my parents to come visit me from Michigan for a week. Also trying to occupy my time while my boyfriend is in Vegas with his buddies this weekend.

Hey LaDena, we had our surgeries the very same day! Way to go on the 105 lb loss.. I am trying my best to get to 100... but having a tough time. What's your secret??? LOL Pam

Hello!
I had my surgery 10/13/03.
I have lost 105 lbs. I have gone from 259 to 154.I have gone from a size 20-22 to an 8.
I have gained self respect, self esteem, self confidence......life is great.
I am such a Happier person and most important an Healthier person.
My Diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol are normal now.
This surgery has been the best thing I could do for myself!
No regrets here!

I am really looking forward to the long weekend. The traveling Vietnam Wall is here for the weekend and I am volunteering each of the 3 days. I am working as a medic and then will be assisting in the grief/loss tent as needed. I am so excited....the memorial came into town yesterday with 1000 motorcycles escorting it in...what an awsome and moving sight. I am hoping to get in some biking and then I have an actual "date" on Sunday for dinner. This dating thing is something new for me......it is fun but, also can be frustrating and confusing. I am too old for all this...LOL Have a good weekend, everyone!

I had my open RNY on Oct. 24, 2003 and have lost 97 pounds! I have gone from a size 24 pants to a size 10...well, almost if I don't wear them in public. But hey...I have them on an zipped...LOL I have tons of energy and would do this all over again in a heartbeat! I am about 15 pounds from my goal...I am so close, I can taste it. I had a few weeks with no weight loss but, this week, I have lost 2 pounds, so, hopefully, it is starting up again. Congrats to all of us "losers"...!!!

I love LeJardin by Max Factor and wear it all the time. I also love Vera Wang and my husband bought me a big bottle last Christmas but I don't wear it very much because it's soooo expensive! LOL

I had my open RNY done by Dr. F. Obeid at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, MI on October 13, 2003. To date I've lost 82 lbs. I still have 40-50 more that I want to lose and I'm not losing as fast as others but I feel wonderful! Wearing XL pants & shirts and no longer snore or have to take meds for diabetes or high blood pressure. I am still tired a lot but i still feel better than before WLS that's for sure!
