Yes!!! This has been happening to me for the past 2 - 3 months, but I haven't seen my doctor for it (bad me, I know!). If I get up out of a chair too quickly, or bend over to get something out of the cupboard and then stand upright I FREQUENTLY get very dizzy, and have blacked out on several occasions. Once, at church, the black out lasted a few seconds and I had to grab ahold of my boyfriend because I was afraid I was actually going to pass out and hit the floor! I think it is blood pressure related......mine is quite low now, too. I am lousy about taking my iron pill sometimes, and have been thinking that might be my problem. The weird thing is that there are days when I don't have this problem at all, and then others when it happens several times a day.
I don't know if its technically WLS related....although it could have to do with our bodies adjusting to our quick loss of weight (I'm 10 1/2 months post-op, down 134 lbs.). It certainly isn't age...I'm 36! I would be exploring it with your PCP instead of your surgeon. Perhaps I should do the same, huh?!

I am a revision from a vbg done in 1997. I started at 360 pounds then, lost to 240. gained to 315 over 5 years.
Had revision to rny on 10-08-04, now I am 220, thats about 95 pounds and 140 since the beginning of my long journey. I thank God for a second chance at this. ~DIana

2-3 HEALTHY SNACKS A DAY
AIR POPCORN, NATURAL PEANUT BUTTER,GRANOLA,100%JUICES, NUTS
MINE ARE HIGH CALORIE SNACKS TO TRY TO PUT WT. ON OR ATLEAST MAINTAIN.
MEDS ARE: 2 VIACTIVE,2 FLINSTONE,1 FLAXCEED OIL,STOOL SOFTENER,1 BIOTIN,1 B-12 INJECTION 1XMO.
I DONT EXCERCISE MUCH I LOOSE MORE WT. W/ANY INCREASE IN ACTIVITY. THE ONLY THING I DO REGUARLY IS CUT GRASS.
I DONT EAT BREAD, RED MEAT,HARDLY NO POTATOES OR PASTA OR RICE.
I MAILY EAT ONLY MEAT MOSTLY CARL BUDDING TURKEY,VEG.,AND FRUITS. I AM NOT DRINKING ANY WATER OR PROTEIN DRINKS ALTHOUGH I KNOW I SHOULD. MY WORST HABBIT IS COFFEE ALL DAY, BECAUSE IM SO COLD AND IT WARMS ME UP. I DO SIP COOLAID W/MEALS.

I ALWAYS HAD A LOW B/P USUALLY 120/60, BUT AFTER ABOUT 6 MONTHS POST OP AND AROUND 134WT. I WAS HAVING DIZZY SPELLS AFTER STOOPING SQAUTING AND JUST BENDING. TWICE I BLACKED OUT IN ONE DAY WHILE PULLING WEEDS. CALLED MY SURGEON WES TOLD IT HAD NOTHING TO DO W/WLS. SEEN FAMILY DR. B/P DROPS TO ABOUT 80/40 WHEN STOOPING. SENT ME FOR HEART TESTS ALL WERE NORMAL. CARDIO DOC SAYS THIS HAPPENS W/ELDERLY AND HE NORMALLY PERSCRIBES A STERIOD THAT INCREASES FLUID RETETION AND WHAT YOU DONT NEED YOUR BODY EXCRETES, I WAS NEVER DEHYDRATED, AND GIVING ME A PILL TO INCREASE FLUIDS DIDNT MAKE SENCE ESPECIALLY A PILL WE ALL KNOW PUTS WT. ON U, AND THEY SAID I COULD BE ON IT LONG TERM. I DECIDED TO LIVE WITH THIS HAVE ADAPTED TO BEING REALLY CAREFUL SO I DONT BLACK OUT,AND HOPE IT PASS'S,AFTER MY BODY ADJUSTS TO THE NEW ME @120 NOW. BUT STILL THINK IT IS RELATED TO WLS., ANYONE ELSE W/THIS?

CONGRATS TO ALL. YOU KNOW I WAS 8 MONTHS POST-OP AND NEVER PUT ANYTHING IN MY MOUTH THAT THEY SAID NOT TOO. I THOUGHT OF IT AS A LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION. ODDLY ENOUGH AT 8 MONTHS I JOINED A SUPPORT GROUP IN MY TOWN, NOW I WAS AT MY IDEAL BODY WEIGHT, WELL ANY WAY AT THAT MEETING I HEARD PEOPLE EATING CANDY, RED MEAT, BREAD, ALCOHOL, ALL THE STUFF THEY WERNT SUPPOSE TO BE HAVING YET AND SOME THEY SHOULD NEVER HAVE. I CAME HOME THINKING AND THIS IS SUPPOSE TO HELP ME? I TOLD MY HUSBAND AND HE SAID NOT TO GO BACK. AT THE MEETING I WAS THE THINEST AND I SAID WHY WOULD U EAT THINGS THAT U R NOT SUPPOSED TO, I TOLD THEM I THOUGHT OF MY SELF AS A RECOVERING ALCOHOLIC AND U CERTAINLY WOULDNT TELL THEM THEY COULD HAVE A BEER. THEY WERE LIKE U HAVE ALL YOUR WEIGHT OFF AND YOUR EVEN HAVING A HARD TIME NOT LOOSING ANY MORE WHY WOULD U NOT TRY IT. I FELT LIKE I DIDNT BELONG THERE. I HADNT EVEN BEEN IN A RESTARAUNT SINCE MY SURGERY. BUT THEY WERE STRUGGLING, I HAD SUCCEEDED I HADNT EVEN EXCERCISED TO DO IT. I NEVER CARED FOR SWEETS IM A MEAT AND TATERS GIRL. ANY WAY A COUPLE WEEKS AFTER THAT I DID TRY A SWEET AND I DIDNT GET SICK EITHER EXCEPT MENTALLY I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED IN MY SELF, I HAD TO GO TO BED I WAS SO DEPRESSED. MY FAVORITE FOODS BEFORE SURGERY,THE FOODS THAT GOT ME TO 236 I WILL NEVER EAT AGAIN. I DONT WANT THOSE CRAVINGS TO COME BACK. AND IF SOMETHING TAISTES REALLY GOOD U DONT WANT TO STOP. U EVENTUALLY AQUIRE A TAISTE FOR HEALTHY FOOD THEY ARE EASY TO STOP EATING WHEN YOU HAVE HAD ENOUGH BECAUSE NO THEY ARE NOT YOUR FAVORITES. IM JUST SAYING BECAREFUL GIRLS. WHEN PEOPLE START SMOKING THEY START OUT SMOKING A FEW A DAY YEARS DOWN THE ROAD THEY ARE UP TO 3 PACKS. OUR BODIES BECOME USE TO WHAT WE PUT IN THEM AND THEN THEY WANT MORE OF IT. IT MAY BE O.K NOW BUT LOOK AT HOW MANY ARE HAVING HUNGER 2 YEARS OUT. THEY REPORT 5 YEARS POST-OP U R EXPECTED TO PUT 10% OF YOUR WT. BACK ON. SOME ARE PUTTING ON A GREAT DEAL MORE. THIS WILL ALWAYS BE A DIET.
EVERY CHOICE WE MAKE WE CHOOSE TO GAIN OR MAINTAIN OUR WT. 4/EVER.

WE HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON, MY NAME IS ANGEL I WAS 236 PRE-OP GOT DOWN TO 136 6MONTHS POST OP NOW AT 11 MONTHS OUT IM FROM 118-122. I WAS TOLD TO STOP AND MAINTAIN AT 134 THEY SAID A TUMMY TUCK WOULD TAKE OFF ANOTHER 10IBS. AND THEN I WOULD BE JUST RIGHT. BUT THE WT. COMES OFF SO EASY. IM A STAY AT HOME MOM W/3 KIDS I ONLY EXCERCISED THE FIRST 5 MONTHS, AT 6 MONTHS OUT I QUIT BECAUSE I WOULD LOOSE 5 IBS. DOING IT AND I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE STOPPING. I DO HAVE ALOT OF ENERGY. ONE TIME A WEEK I MOW OUR GRASS,AND THAT ALWAYS TAKES OFF ABOUT 3IBS. I AM EATING 8OZ. MEALS W/2-3 SNACKS A DAY. I CAN PUT BACK ON THE WEIGHT I LOST FROM CUTTING THE YARD BUT I WILL LOOSE IT IN A COUPLE OF DAYS. NOW ALSO I MUST SAY I REALLY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SEEING THE #'S ON THE SCALE GO UP. FOR 11 MONTHS IT HAS BROUGHT HAPPINESS TO SEE THEM GO DOWN AND EVEN NOW WHEN I GET THE 2-3 IBLS. BACK ON I FEEL DEPRESSED,DO U? I AM HAPPY AT THIS WT.,BUT MY DR. SAYS WE NEED TO GET MY WT. UP AND MAKE IT STAY THERE AND ME TO EXCERCISE W/OUT LOOSING,BECAUSE IT IS GOOD FOR YOUR BODY. I AM SERIOUS I EAT ALL I WAS TOLD TOO BUT I MAKE GOOD FOOD DECISSIONS. IM SO SCARED THAT THIS THINESS WONT LAST ALMOST SO SCARED I WONT LET MYSELF GAIN ANY BACK. ANY THING YOU COULD SAY MIGHT SHOW ME IM NOT ALONE. FOR MOST PEOPLE THEY LOOK AT ME LIKE AN ALLEIN WITH A PROBLEM LIKE THIS.

MINE WAS 10/15/03, I WAS 236. NOW I AM 120,IM 5'4. LOST MOST OF MINE IN THE FIRST SIX MONTHS. NOW LETS KEEP MOTIVATED.

hi i had surgery on 10-06-03 so not too far off from you i started out at 330.5 and a now down to 170 trying to get to 135
so i guess that is a total loss of 160 lbs so far

hi, i may get on everyones nerves cause i am just so thrilled with the south beach diet.....i have had a very bad time with really strong cravings...and also a bad time barely losing any weighty for the last apst months...so i heard from a few others on this site that the south beach diet helped break their plauteus..i read the book and the first two weeks on the diet phase one its called gets u to eat in a way that helps get rid of carb cravings..i though ya right what ever..but i tried it...not only are the cravings gone but i have lost 4 pounds in a week...hugs Dawn

had my surgery sept 29th 2003 have lost 115 for those with similar dates and weight i weighed 318 how much do you weigh now..hugs Dawn
