Patricia, how exciting for you. I'm so thrilled for your progress. I sure do know what you mean about your tummy rejecting what it's eaten in the past. I'd retreat to cottage cheese to, but it's one of the most vile things on this earth (in my book)! Was before surgery, still is now. I about flung that and the icky tomato soup at the hospital staff when they continued to bring it to me after surgery. I just can't choke it down! Many blessings and congrats to you too!

HAPPY RE BIRTH DAY TO US ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had wls 10-09-03 I am feeling so healthy, no more medication, lots of energy, the only problem I am still having is hair loss / not growing back like it use to. However that is just a minor glitch. Overall I am living and loving life more than I can remember. I also have had 4 girlfriends who have had wls after me and only one had a really hard time post op, but she is doing better now. GOD IS GOOD MAY HE CONTINUE TO BLESS US ALL.

Yes, I wear my seatbelt when in an automobile, I didn't use to until I was in a terrible car accident in the year 2000. I was on my lunch break going to get lunch, saw two police standing outside in the parking lot, when I got in the car. That triggered me to put on my belt, 5 minutes later a Dump truck (filled with sand) T-boned my compact car, knocked it into a telegraph pole. I had to be cut out out the car, it was a devastating, Had excrutiating pain in arm, neck, hip, legs. I had to have back surgery, and just last month I injured my back again on my job. They say the back never is the same, and that it is so easy to be hurt again. My doctor said it is possible to cause injury to your back just by sneezing I try to wear it every time I get into an automobile now. (I have to really remind/make myself if I am going a short distance). BUCKLE UP FOR SAFETY

How time flies when you are having fun, mainly shopping. My anniversary appointment with Dr. Lamar is on October 5 (three days early, but what the heck). At my last doctor's appointment, in July for a physical, I'd lost 175 pounds. I KNOW it's more now, because I've dropped three pant sizes since then. It's very strange. At the beginning, last year, I wore size 32 jeans. Now I wear between a 16 and 18. Wow. I have no recipes to share, because I don't (can't; must be honest here!) cook. My role in the kitchen is best described as clean-up; I do a mean dish. I am surrounded by awesome cooks, however, who have done their best to adapt to my needs. It has turned out that I just eat small amounts of what's good for me; ignore gravy; ignore desserts -- except for the monthly frozen yogurt run. If my tiny tummy decides, for reasons known to itself, to reject a food that had been okay just a day before, I retreat to the cottage cheese. I hope everyone has enjoyed a good result, and keeps being healthy.

ROFLMAO! Ever since my surgery, I, too, have been cold. I was the only one remotely comfortable in my family this summer! The funny thing is, I used to have ferocious hot flashes. No more!

My mother, 86, who lives with us loves to eat the things I eat. I finally had to put them out of her reach, and she isn't agile enough to climb. But my pet peeve is: I'm cold so much of the time. I'm always wearing long pants and have a sweater/coat on hand even during the summer. Starting this time of year when its finally getting down to the mid-50s at night I have placed our electric blanket back on the bed. I'm using it nearly all night every night now. It gives me the mental image of one of those size one 90 lb women in most of the offices I have ever worked. You know the ones who are always cold and complaining to turn off the A/C or up the heat.

Flank or Skirt steak 1 pkg. Italian dressing mix 1/3 cup vegetable oil 3 TBSP balsamic vinegar ¼ tsp pepper Marinate the steak for several hours, I like to marinate it overnight and grill or broil the next evening. I think it is best if you get a little charring on it. Slice it thinly on an angle against the grain.

Topic: RE: Getting the scale to move!
Hi all, I would like to join you "whiners" but, my scale moved 2 pounds this morning so, I am afraid to whine in case the scale moves the other way...LOL Whining MUST help because, I was whining earlier this week about being stuck at the 100 pound mark and lo and behold, I am now at -102! Only 13 to go! I have recently increased my exercise level; biking an average of 15 miles a night. So, for me, exercise has been the key factor to get the scale moving. Good luck with the whining...I may need to join you in a few days if I get stuck again! Deb 250/148/almost there!

Peggy, Let's hope complaining helps for both of us! It seems like other times I have posted on my profile or elsewhere that my weight loss has stalled, the scale gets moving again. Here's hoping anyway!! It sounds like you are doing great! I have heard from others that the last 20 lbs. or so likes to hang on tight and it can be a real fight to get it off. The only thing I can suggest is maybe having a protein and water only day every 4 - 5 days. This is something my doctor reccommends for slower losers to get things moving, perhaps it will help you get it moving. This is a trick I intend to use if I should get above goal...once I get below it, that is! Good Luck! Hopefully you and I will both have progress to share in a couple days! Kathy
