Well... I wanted to be able to say I had lost 100 lbs. But, that's not to be. So I'll just say that I've lost 82 lbs and be happy!!!

Okay, so its our month now. What is the one thing you are most looking forward to this month.
Mine was being at goal. I did it a while ago so I'm happy. Now I've changed mine to just making sure I'm healthy and happy!
Topic: RE: Help, what would you do????
My surgeon is thousands of miles away. He told me that because I check in monthly with my weight and how I feel, to just call his office to send my docs office here locally the blood work that needs to be done. He's callin' it good!

Hi Peggy... Yeah, I heard they're going to pull Vioxx too... I heard it is causing heart attacks & strokes. I'd call your dr. right now so he can switch you to something else before the Vioxx gets out of your system. Don't let the inflammation get bad before you start something else. Your dr. will know what to do. I hope they find something that works for you. Pam PS: Good job on the walking!!

Well, Judy... I'm not going to blast you... ever! Because, I think we're all in your shoes at one time or another. I also eat more than I think I should and not always what I should. I try my best to eat no carbs and only eat protein but there are times when I'd give just about anything to have a bite of something sweet (usually once a month right before I start). But, I still feel that exercise and an active lifestyle are key to keeping weight off. Now... ask me why I don't do it! I am so bad about it even though I am of the opinion that exercise is the key! I guess maybe I need some blasting too... lol.
Maybe pull out some of your before pictures... maybe try to go back and remember the way you felt physically with all that weight on you... maybe try to think back of what inconsiderate people said about you... do you have any comorbidities that were cured from your weight loss? Remember that those are not gone forever... just better. They can sneak back up on you before you know it.
Do you have any children or grandchildren that you can try to think of when you get into those moods where you don't care what you eat? You know you want to be healthy and active for them.
I'm 43 years old and I keep telling my husband that we're in the last end of our lives and I don't want to live them sheltered in my home like I did for the past 20 years.
Also... do you measure out your food before you eat it? I think that is where Weigh****chers is good... maybe join a weight loss club like that to help keep you on track.
I hope that something I've said has helped you... i'd rather try to help you than blast you! You take care... and you've done phenominal... you just keep up the good work! Pam

I think it depends on of you want a little getaway or not. If I was feeling like I needed to get 'out of dodge' for a while, I'd go. If you feel like you're doing just fine, don't go. Maybe you should go just so that you can have your "official" one year visit to your surgeon. But, it would probably be the last time I'd go. I am lucky that my surgeon practices right here in my home town (in fact, I work at the hospital where he does the surgery). Let us know what you decide. Pam
Topic: RE: Visit to my Surgeons Office
Hi Tanya... thanks for the update. I have to make an appointment to see my dr. again too. I am still not feeling any better... I really don't think these things that I've been feeling (sleepy, scatterbrained, confused, not able to get anything done, not wanting to be around people) are all from depression... maybe the part about not wanting to have to deal with people but the rest of it I think might be that I am deficient in something. I was on the borderline of B-12 & Folic Acid the last time my blood work was done.
Anyway... I'm glad that you're feeling so much better than you were last year, you've done a great job! Pam
Topic: WHY IS IT????
That about the time I get use to a med that is doing the work the take it off the market? I just heard today that they are taking Vioox off the market. It is now at the time of year that I need it the most. As the weather has been changing UP North I am not able to walk as much as I need to. It is too painful. I hope that whatever they decide to put me on next will not have to build in my system before it starts working. I really need to walk walk walk. I have only did one mile the last 2 days, but I did 4 miles on tuesday. WHAT'S NEXT?????

I love string cheese and now I actually have started liking baked cod. I love it with lots of butter and lemon pepper.
Topic: need to get back to the basics....
Do you feel the need to get back to the basics? I do. I am eating it all wrong... well maybe not all, but i am certainly way off track with things. I thought that i was "normal" now a few months backwhen i tiped the scales at 143# down 90#. I need to get below 132# to be at goal of BMI 24.9. I am now realizing it was that kind of thought that got me in the mess i was in with weight. I haven't lost but maybe 1# since July. It is because i am out eating the tool. I over eat at every meal it seems and talk about junk... eeerrrrrr. I still eat my protein first and then the vegis and starch last, but i eat it. Then, later after the meal i eat a low sugar/no fat icecream bar. During the day i eat "school lunch"... We all know how good for you that can be. WHINE.... I know, but i felt like admitting it was happening was an issue for me to address. Here, folks understand the battle and it is a start. Any commments are welcome... blast away, i have been sssssooooooo bad! Love you guys!
