Topic: One Year Ago Today
Today I am celebrating my one year anniversary of WLS. I wanted to take the day off work to celebrate but I was told I had an off-campus mandatory all day meeting that I was required to attend. So... I guess my celebration will be this week-end... LOL
I wanted to thank everyone for all their advice and help. I've not lost as much weight as I thought I would but believe me, I am not complaining... 82 lbs gone and I feel soooo much better and I repeat... I am NOT complaining. No more meds for diabetes & high blood pressure and I no longer shake the house from snoring. My husband is ever so thankful for that! LOL
I still want to lose at least 30 more lbs and would LOVE to lose 40 more. I know those will go slow but I am going to keep plugging away.
Thank you again to everyone here and I also want to thank Dr. F. Obeid and Hurley Medical Center for giving me a second chance at life. I will always be grateful.
Love to all, Pam

lets show our support to our re-birthday buddies! We're almost half way through the month. It's such a monumentous moment in our lives.
Topic: RE: October Roll Call
First of all...Happy Anniversary to all of us October "losers".
This surgery has been such a blessing for me! I feel absolutely wonderful and I have gone from a size 24 to a comfortable 10. I am about 15 pounds from my goal! I will not need any further surgeries...I am fortunate that I do not have any hanging skin ( except for those darn bat wings but, even those are getting smaller thanks to my weight training class) I have tons of energy and I am doing some things that I only dreamed of ever doing.
I do pretty well with my water intake...usually about 100 oz. a day. I exercise usually 5-6 days a week...alternating between biking, walking, running and weight training.
Congratulations to all of us !!

Topic: RE: WALKING CHALLENGE
I am not from "that state up north" But I like the idea of walking somewhere. I walk about 3-4 miles a day and will find someplace to walk to. I have a question, If choose Hawaii do I have to swim? I am not that good of a swimmer I think maybe I will start smaller and head off to "The Shoe". Thats the Horsee shoe as in BUCKEYE country.

Topic: Question of the Evening...
Besides the improvement of our health, what else has changed for the better in our lives?
For me, I'd say the physical intimacy with my husband is MUCH better! I'm much happier than a year ago, too!

Topic: RE: Question for today...
Mine is to maintain this 133 pounds and see if I can get insurance to approve a tt and boob lift!
Topic: RE: Question for today...
Hi Jane...my WL sister !!!
A few of my goals are:
1. Get down to my goal weight...I am about 15-20 pounds away from that...AND...I want to maintain my goal weight!
2. Do a 50 mile bike ride next summer. I did several shorter ones ( 20 mile) this summer so, I am training for a biggie next summer.
3. Continue to feel as good/healthy as I do now.
Just a few for now...good question!
