Well, it's been a year and I am so happy that I had the courage to do this one year ago. I think we should all be proud of ourselves! I am down 133 pounds and weigh 129. Next Tuesday, the 19th, I will have a circumferential abdominoplasty and breast lift w/augmentation. I am curious about how others are approaching plastic surgery a year after gastric bypass (and if you've already been there - was it worth it?) I am paying out-of-pocket for everything! I feel a little guilty at 54, but it seems I've come this far, might as well go for broke.
Topic: almost 1 year
On Oct 30 it will be 1 year since I had surgery. I never thought I would make it this far. So far I have lost 121lbs. beleive you me I never thought I would ever lose that much. I have about 15 lbs to go and I will be at my goal weight. It seems very hard now to reach that. Almost like I have come to a halt in loseing. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to reach my goal of 15 more lbs? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I look alot at all the posts and this is my first time to actually have a question. It seems all my questions are answered here. This is such a great site and so helpfull. I am so glad I found out about this place.

Hi fellow October losers!
Tomorrow is officially my one year rebirthday. What a wonderful journey this has been!
Since surgery I have lost 139 lbs. and I am 158 lbs. lighter than my all time high. I am at goal, have a bmi comfortably in the normal range, and have my TT scheduled for Nov. 3rd. A year ago I wore a 24 or 26, today I wear size 10....and can button 8's, but the skin sags, so we'll wait til after the TT for those!
Now for the hard part!! Exercising self control and making good choices without the reward of watching the scale go down. So far, so good! I look at getting dressed each morning in clothing I was certain I'd never wear as my daily reward, and reminder to behave myself!
Thank you for everyones support and encouragement. It's been a pleasure journeying with all of you thus far, and I look forward to continuing to do so!

Good day all
I am so excited. October 20 makes the date of my new birth. I have went from a woman's 36 to a 14-16. I am so pleased with my weight loss. I started at 420lbs., and am down to 272lbs, and still losing. I hope to reach 250 by the 18 month mark.
This has been the best thing I have ever done in my life. It has changed me for the better. My eating habits, excercise, self esteem, etc. I appreciate Dr. Vaughn to the highest for giving me a second chance at life.
