Hello everyone,
I had stopped coming to Obesity Help for quite a while because I found it too discouraging that everyone else seemed to be doing so much better than I was. I never made it to goal. I did lose 120 lbs, and get to under 200 (198) which made me very happy. Now I just struggle with gaining and losing the same 5 lbs. I have a very hard time with going back to my old bad habits.
I do try hard to exercise several times a week, which I never did pre- WLS. I either walk the track at the High School, or I have a wide variety of exercise videos, from old Richard Simmons to Tae Bo (?) and that annoyingly cheerful Denise Richards woman

Hi all!!! I lurk alot, but would LOVE to keep in touch with anyone who wants to. We get so busy with life. Have any of you gotten to where you eat bad stuff? I sure have and dont like it. I eat 3 oreos a day with my coffee in the morning. How can we stop? I am so afraid of gaining. How do all of you cope with the everyday struggles? Help!!!

HI from Oregon Kristin. I went from 280 to 120 and stayed there until preggo.. I had a baby at 41 in March, gained 28 pounds and am down now to 116. My blood work is great and I dont have the energy that I used to but am back to exercising. I go to the gym with my 2 teenagers and walk around my neighborhood. If I get on the scale and gain more than 2 pounds I cut back on calories and eat back to the basics, protein first. I am breastfeeding and work on a balanced diet and keeping up with my vitamins and B12 shots. You know we worked too darn hard to get WLS and lose the weight to gain it back, so hang in there and keep working on it. The best tool for me is FITDAY.COM.......... it keeps me honest and I log in about 1 time a week to count calories, fat, protein and track my liquids.......
Hugz!

Helllo.... from houston....
What a great goal. I started at 287 got down to 145, got pregnant and currently weight 175. I am trying to loose 20 pounds and it so hard...
I do not know about you but I am not eating as much as I used to but I am eating carbs and empty calories....
I am so glad that I am not alone in my struggle. I am so scared to continue gaining weight and have my diabetes come back at full force...
Anyway I just wanted to say thanks for posting it is good to know that I am not alone in my struggle.

Kristin,
Hi right back! Well, I busted butt and made it to goal....313 down to 140. I kept myself nicely between 140 - 145 for a year. This winter I really struggled with seasonal depression (a problem here in Michigan) and discovered I can tolerate sugar. Today I weigh 168, which really stinks. None of my summer clothes fit! I have joined a group of ladies at work who are doin weekly weigh-ins, attempting to trim a bit before summer. At first I was motivated, but am really struggling again. My stress level is sky high, and I'm just not focused. I'm very frustrated and disappointed in myself! I made the choice for this summer to forgo my golf league in favor of a gym membership and my support group...now I just need to actually go to the gym!
Good for you on the half marathon!! I wish we lived closer...I would be game for something like that. When I was walking regularly, I had started running intervals of my walk in order to get my heart rate up. I had thought about trying to increase my runnning stretches to see if I could get to the point of being able to at least do a 5K this summer. I could really use the self esteem boost of accomplishing something like that!
I'm not familiar with the book you are using....so how are you preparing to do the 1/2 marathon, and when are you hoping to do it by? Good luck to you!!

hi there!
thanks for writing back.
How have you done with your weight loss? have you maintained? gained?
I started at 352...got down to 214 (for about a Day!) and then stayed at about 219-224 for the longest time.... just this past fall/winter i popped up to my highest of 236 (freaked me out)...and now i'm on the down slide again (with work!!) and about 229..... it sucks... got out my last years summer clothes and they are tight!! ugh!
HOWEVER...bought me an ipod, a pedometer and the Marathon book by Jeff Galloway and am doing training to do a 1/2 marathon.....(don't want to start with a full one...that kinda scares me)... and then I'd eventually like to do a mini triathalon! (that has always been a dream ya know?)
Hope all is well with you!

Topic: RE: Going for a bra fitting today
Hi Kristin,
I check in on the Oct 03 board about once a week. I would check in more often if there was more happening. I've always been active on the Michigan Board, but find that the further out I get, the less I have in common with most people on there.
Anyway, nice to see you on here!!
