Congratulations, hooray, celebrate your victory!!! I appreciate everyone's support, too. It made it so much easier to talk with others who were going through the same changes as me. I hope that all of your dreams can come true, now! Love, Jane

Topic: RE: What's Left On Your List?
Sandra,
I have found myself almost obsessed with running lately. I haven't really "started" running, but whenever I walk, I have the urge to burst into a run....and sometimes do. I've been thinking of starting to run a little and perhaps set a goal to do a local 10 k next summer. It blows my mind to think I might actually do it!! I don't want to actually "set" the goal until I start running and see if I'm liking it...and if the body is going along with it. The main reason I haven't started is because I have a problem foot that needs orthotics....I don't want to mess up my foot and then not even be allowed to walk for a while! My daughter will need to be conditioning for track, so perhaps I'll condition with her...after I recover from my PS!
Kathy
Good luck with your goal!
Topic: Isn't life great?
I am 1 year out as of the 29th. I think back on all the fears I had before surgery and all the soul searching I did, I am so happy to know that I made the right choice. My life is full of hope and I feel wonderful! I haven't lost as much as many of you (116 lbs) and I didn't get under 200 lbs yet (I am sooo close) but I am still happy with my results. Congratulations to all of us brave people who risked our lives to change them for the better!
Topic: What's Left On Your List?
Last weekend I went to the first annual Texas Weight Loss Surgery Summit and had a great time. It was geared towards post-ops only and was chock-full of info on living after WLS, dealing with emotions, fear of regain, plastic surgery, etc, etc, etc.
One session I attended was thought provoking. The speaker passed out 3x5 cards and asked us to write down any goals remaining on our list. (We all had a list of things we wanted to do after WLS, right?) Then she asked us about our goals for the future. It was amazing to see how our goals have changed. Last year we wanted little things...being able to tie our shoes, dreaming of sitting in an airline seat without an extender, wishing for a certain size or weight. Now, a year later, we've met most or all of those goals and are looking forward to BIG things.
Last year I dreamed of all those little things too and had a blast as I reached every single goal over the year. (Including dropping 148 lbs.) What's on my list for the future? I want to get certified as an aerobics instructor so I can work especially with our population, teaching, motivating, and cheerleading others to their goals. As a senior citizen, I never thought I would have a career change to look forward to, especially something to do with exercise!
What's left on your list? What's on your future list?

Topic: Happy Halloween!
Hi all, I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Halloween. This is my second since my surgery but for the first time EVER I have no interest in raiding the candy bowl. This is especially good since I also have wicked PMS today so it is even a bigger victory. Good luck all post-op in staying away from the candy bowl!

Topic: RE: QOTD: How fast can you eat a ....?
I can eat some things fast, but I am trying really hard to remember to slow down. I very rarely eat bread. Maybe once a month. I have yet to eat a whole sandwich. A chicken breast (if it's moist) will take me about 10 minutes. A 6 oz steak takes me 15 minutes.
Topic: RE: 1 year , 100 lbs gone

Topic: RE: My 1 year & link to pics
Amy, first of all you look great!! Congrats on your success.
Second, I am now in a size 12 and it is hard for me to see myself smaller. Well I looked at your pic before I read your post and thought "gee I wish I looked like her!". Then I read that you are in a size 14 and I just about fell off my chair. Guess that is what I would look like if I could see myself for what I look like now. Too funny.
Congrats again,
Tanya
