Congrats Linda on your progress. Isn't this the best blessing!!! I am so very thankful to have had this opportunity to have WLS. I have a new lease on life that is for sure. Blessings to you on your journey.

As my daughter stated to me,"i'm the incredible shrinking women. My body is changing, but have only lost 38 lbs. My size has gone down from 32 to 22-24.

Good Work! I too am 2 months post op, I had it done 10/21. I had some major complications, but it had nothing to do with the surgery. I too, have given away 8 totes full of my plus size clothing. Its a great feeling, but I have nothing to wear. Do you have a support person to help you through some of your concerns or questions/problems? I'm trying to find a support person, because I have so many questions/concerns/issues. Keep up the good work! You should feel great about your progress. Donna

Topic: I would like to find someone to talk too, who had surgery in Oct. 2003
Hi, my name is Donna and I had my surgery on 10/21/03. I'm looking for a support person who can answer some of my questions and help with some of my concerns. I only have one friend who had the surgery, but she's had it done almost 3yrs ago. So there is a lot that she just can't help me with! Plus, I wasn't able to attend any post op support groups due to my complications. But, now two months later I'm feeling great, but need some help with some of my concerns. So if you also are looking for some support, please email me at [email protected] Thank you!

Topic: RE: December 03 Roll Call
Hello everyone. I am here and doing well. I am not having any problems with vomiting or dumping. I can eat just about anything, which is probably not a good thing. I have lost 30 lbs. in 8 weeks, which seems too slow to me, but my surgeon's office is happy with it. I am having trouble with my snacking, especially at this time of year, and have made an appointment with the behaviorist my surgeon provides to see if I can nip it in the bud. I do exercise a couple of times a week (Richard Simmons and I Sweat to the Oldies together) but I know I need to exercise more often so I have ordered more tapes at Ebay. In spite of the fact that I expected to lose faster, I am feeling so much better with even this small loss. I hope everyone is doing great!

Hi all! Well, I'm officially down 53 lbs.......41 since surgery on 10/16. I feel great, and have never been sick.....mostly because I have never deviated from what I'm allowed to eat, I suppose! I just had blood drawn to see how I'm doing. My biggest problem is exercise! I was doing well with it at first, but haven't done well at all the past 3 weeks or so. I went snowshoeing (yes, we have plenty of snow here!) yesterday, and I can't believe how sore my abdomen is today! I have a treadmill so I don't have to go outside, and I also belong to Curves...so I REALLY have no good excuses!! Time to get moving! My next goal is to pass the 60 lb. mark before my next support meeting, which is Jan. 12th. That should be doable, although the scale is kinda stuck lately! Merry Christmas everyone! 2004 is OUR year to shine!!! Kathy 294/241/155

Topic: 2 months and feeling great
It has been two months since my surgery and I have had no complications. My energy level was low for a while but after being put on potassium pills my energy is a lot better. In fact I am keeping my 3 year old grandson for a while and having a great time with him, I can actually keep up with him. So far I have lost 47 lbs if my scales are correct. I am still not able to eat very much, which is fine with me. I find the easiest thing for me to get down is beans, preferably pinto. Don't do well with most meats even if I chew, chew, chew. I do not do sugar at all as it makes me deathly ill. Found that out the hard way when I unconscouisly ate a cookie while doing Christmas baking. But luckily I do not crave sweets like I did before WLS. I am able to eat a half of a McDonalds hamburger patty(pressed between a stack of napkins to remove excess grease). Good luck to everyone else and a slim Christmas to all. Judi

Wow... everyone is doing great and what a variety of losses we have!! I am down 38 lbs. (31 since day of surgery). I go back in for my follow up with blood work on Tuesday... so, I'll see then how I'm doing with my labs. I haven't had any complications to speak of other than a severe burning pain around where my drain hole was located. That is pretty excrutiating, but I'll be chatting with the doc about that on Tuesday. I wanted to be down another 13 lbs by 12/31, but that's looking doubtful. As long as the scale is moving the right direction; I'm happy. Merry Christmas, Jackie

Topic: RE: Constipation
Hi Marie! At first, I only had diarrhea. Then earlier this week, the ol' constipation hit. What fun! *l* I upped my water intake (which was already, like, a million gallons a day, it seemed) and had a cup of coffee (NOT decaffeinated). I know some doctors don't want their patients to have caffeine and I don't know how your doctor feels about it, but a cup of hot, fairly strong, black coffee will get me "moving" (so to speak!) in no time!. Hope that helps! Good luck!! Love and prayers, Amy
