Hi Donna my name is Dana and I had surgery Oct 29, 2003. I too don't have anyone close to me who has had the surgery done recently. Please feel free to email me with questions and concerns. Maybe we can share and compares notes! I go to support group in my area but haven't really connected yet with anyone. You can email me at [email protected]. Hope you are doing well.

Topic: RE: Constipation
Hi Marie, I would try eating some canned pears in their own juice or in lite syrup. They're a great snack and they helped me be pretty regular along with drinking water. Good luck.

Hi, everyone this is my first time back since my surgery on October 15th. I'm currently doing well I'm down 53.8 lbs. I go for blood work next Monday. Wish me luck. I've been having problems with constipation as well as drinking water. Water hurts my stomach. So I mainly drink juice with have water. I hate the protein drinks. I know I'm not getting enough protein because I don't eat enough food. I can barely get 3 meals in a day. But I'm not complaining. I see my doctor again on the 14th of January hopefully he will not kill me. Well wish me luck.

I don't have a consistent support person. I know several people who have had the surgery, but we don't talk very often. I also have questions that I have not found answers to. Mainly questions about exactly what I am suppose to eat and what I totally should avoid. I have had no problems with anything I've eaten. I do try to chew well and take small amounts.
The support groups that I know of are not near my home. The closest one is an hour drive away. That isn't very convenient. Do you know of any on line support groups?
