I am glad to see everyone is doing so GREAT!!! CONGRATS TO ALL!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!! I had surgery Oct. 29th and I am down from 350 to 275, 75lbs loss and 31 1/2 inches gone forever. From a size 30/32 pants to a size 20/22 and 3X/4X tops to 18/20 or reg. XL. I have alot of energy and feel wonderful. I walk about 8 hours a week (don't know how many miles I dont walk very fast) Most of my joint pain is totally gone. I have no problems with any food only that I don't like nearly what I used to. I don't take protein shakes but I get plenty of protein with the foods that I eat. I give myself B-12 shots once a month and take all my vitamins everyday (sometimes I forget oopps). I am so thankful that I was able to have this surgery. Now I am on a mission to help a friend whom I know would bennifit from this surgery. His loosing weight is a life or death situation and I am putting forth all my efforts to help him see that. He has lost everything and he is left with his terrible health and a 7 month old baby. Any prayers are greatful. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers keep up the good work and GOD BLESS!! Sabrina

I too had my surgery on 10/1 and to date I have lost 50 pounds! I am so excited and I LOVE the new clothes problem!! I have gone from a size 22-24 to a 16-18 and I can actually shop in store like the Gap and Old Navy!! for the first time in my life! 90 pounds is so GREAT! My husband also had the surgery 10/23 and has lost about 75 pounds. He has gone from a 52 waist to a 44 and from a 3XLT to an XLT. He was so excited about that when we went shopping this past weekend! I am so proud of him and all of us who have made the move to the losing side!

Hello again everyone! I am happy to see how well everyone is doing! As for me, I have lost 45 lbs (am not quite 3 mos. out). This seems slow compared to most of you, but I will take it anyway . I exercise about twice a week and am trying to increase that. I feel great, can eat anything, including sugar, and only vomit when I eat too fast. I get in 1 or 2 protein drinks a day, and take my vitamins and omega3 fish oil and calcium faithfully. I don't know if I will need B12 shots, I seem to have enough energy, so maybe not. No hair loss yet, I am hoping it won't happen since I haven't had any problems with eating. I did consult with a behaviorist (I am going to see her once a month) because I am snacking too much and don't have the dumping deterrant that I was counting on to keep me with the program. Despite the relatively slow weight loss, I am happy I took this step and look forward to the future with great optimism.

Hello everyone! I have lost 51 pounds so far. Had Open VBG on 10.28.03. Feel excellent. I have TONS of energy. I can walk over 1 mile at a time now. Used to have a hard time walking to the car. Can shop for hours (ha ha) (I think that's a good thing -- right?) Still not able to tolerate really "dense" or "heavy" foods. Exercise 3 x per week and LOVING IT! Hi Everyone, I had Lap RNY on 10/8/03 and have lost 51 lbs since then and an additional 7 lbs since consult on 8/18/03 for a total of 58 lbs lost!! I WILL join Curves tomorrow!! I keep putting it off, either the holidays were too busy (I did get exercise by parking as far from the store door as possible when shopping) or I wasn't feeling well (took iron and Synthroid together and neither was working, then got a head cold). I have only vomited once and that was because I took my iron after eating breakfast. I can eat anything I want, don't seem to want everything I used to like anymore. I am down 4 jean sizes and 4 bra band sizes and 1 cup size. I still wear my baggy sweaters but some are too baggy and are getting retired. It's like Christmas everytime I find a sweater in my closet that was too small and now fits. I actually had to by a new winter coat, old one just hung and my hands didn't stick out anymore. I guess I am a slow loser but sometimes it just seems too easy to be true. I told someone that if I didn't have surgery, I would be very happy at my present weight. Of course I want to go as low as I can go and would love to meet my goal of 140 but anything is good! Carol Beck

Hi everyone, It's been a wonderful journey as of yet. I have had no major complications, though some nausea from eating too fast (old habits). So far I've lost 110 lbs (50 lbs prior to surgery), I am down 4 sizes in my pants and three sizes in my shirts. Recently I went shopping at a big-and-tall man shop and after trying on one pair of pants, the salesclerk asked if I need anything else. I didn't buy anything; the smallest size in store was TOO BIG! I walked out smiling and the next day I went to Wal-Mart and bought three pants in my new size for the same price it would have cost me for one pair at B&T! I'm loving it! And probably the best part about my decision to do this has been the wonderful accolades I've received from my family, my friends, my co-workers. It's been a long time since someone noticed me for me; I'm not the big guy anymore, I'm the loser. Bill

Hey Donna, Just read your note, and it seems we've got some traits in common. First of all, I too am a country fan, and second, and most importantly, my surgery date was October 21, 2003. I'm feeling great down about 110 lbs (lost about 50 lbs prior to surgery with all the special pre-diets). Everyday is a new adventure and I'm loving it. I've already moved away from the big-and-tall man shops, buying my clothes at Wal-mart instead. I eat regular meals, smaller portions of course and water, water, water. I don't know anyone personally who has had the surgery; I've been going it alone. I would love to talk and share ideas. Support is so vital toward a successful journey. Drop me a line. My email is [email protected] Thanks, Bill

Hi Everybody! I had my surgery in Oct 17, I've lost 57 pounds, but just started exercising. I can tolerate almost anything. Beef can be a little rough on some days. Received 2 protein sample packages for Christmas (trying everything) and a membership to Curves. I feel if I had exercised earlier, maybe my weight loss would have been greater. I'm very happy with my results and lok foward to reaching my goal.

Hi All! I have lost 72 pounds since surgery and feel awsome. I went from a size 28 to a size 18/20. I can wear XL and even some large tops in regular stores! I can't believe I can go into regular stores again and buy anything! The weight loss was really fast at first but is now slowing down to a more managable pace. I can actually keep jeans for a couple weeks before having to buy the next size down. I keep inspired by how awsome everyone on here is doing. Keep it up people! You're doing awsome!
