Sounds like everyone is doing great. I had my surgery 10/2/03 in Tampa. Went back for my 3 month post-op and had lost 60 lbs. Another 7 since then. Isn't it great? I'm 57 yrs old and had thought that my years of even yo-yo losing was over! I am exercising 3 X a week at a gym (only for people over 40!) and actually loving it. Can't believe the difference a few months has made in my life.

How about being able to climb stairs
Or being able to sit in a movie theater
Or still having energy past 4:00 in the afternoon
Or buying clothes off the rack at K-Mart and having them fit!
Life is good

Hi everyone. I had surgery on October 1st and I am down 66 pounds. I tolerate almost everything so far - turkey or dry things arent' pretty though!! I stay away from sugar, caffeine and carbonation. I mostly eat protein, limit carbs and fat. I ususally drink 1 protein drink a day to supplement my protein. I'm ashamed to say I'm not on a bonifide exercise program - it'**** and miss right now. I need to get diciplined with exercise. I feel GREAT - My 3 month blood work came back all normal - I am losing hair though. I hate that since I already have thin, baby-fine hair. Hope it stops soon. I'm down from a 4x to a 2x, 28 dress to a 22 and 18/20 jeans. Even my rings and shoes are getting big!! All is well. Good luck to all of you!!

Hello to All:
No worries to report this issue.. I'm down 60 pounds using the lapband feeling a bit better each and every day. I feel the light at the end of my tunnel and am basking in it's warm embrace every day. I joined the YMCA and am able to get there 5 days a week. I do still get some soreness in my back if I overdo it but it quickly subsides. ALL in all.. I feel 100% better than I ever had in over 25 years.

Topic: RE: Cure for puking all the time
I have had this same problem. My biggest problem was medication. I would vomit it almost every time.
Now I take my medication very slowly and I have found that I have to sit upright for at least a 1/2 hour after taking it.
The nutrionist also suggested sucking on a sugar free lemon drop when you feel nauseated which has worked or smelling a fresh lemon which also works.
I have also found getting a breath of fresh air or taking deep breaths in through the nose out through the mouth helps to keep me from vomiting.
I am so glad to see that I am not the only one with this problem. It is getting better as I learn new tricks.

I am so glad to see the post. I was told that there was no way I was going to keep up with the people that had the full gastric bypass since I only had the gastric sleeve.
I am three months out and down 60 pounds. It looks like I am keeping up with everybody else.
I exercise every day riding my stationary bike 8 miles a day. Sometimes I do take the weekends off.
I will be seeing my surgeon next week to see if he will now do the bypass on me. I am very high risk and he wouldn't do it at first because I wouldn't survive.
I am totally off my insuline which I was taking over 400 units a day. I am also off of the Prednisone. I am still on all of my other meds and my oxygen use is still the same, 3 liters all the time. My CPAP pressures have come down from 10 to 6. I am very proud of myself.
