I have tried many of the protein drinks and powders out there and all of them make me sick. They are either too sweet and make me dump, taste like chalk or have artificial sweetners (all of which make me sick). Luckily I found a protein powder called Whey Delicious. It has not fat, no sugar and no artificial sweetners. It also has 21 grams of protein in each scoop. It comes in various flavors: chocolate, vanilla, berry supreme, tropical breeze, creamsicle, etc and you mix it with any type of liquid you choose - water, juice, etc. I have tried the berry supreme and the tropical breeze and so far the berry supreme is better. I just mix it in 8 oz of water and drink it down. It may be a little pricey, but buying it is better than continuing to buy drinks that you either don't finish or throw out. The website is www.proteinishealthy.com if you want more info. Good luck on your search for the perfect protein drink.

Hello everyone. Today is my 3 month annivesary. I had a LAP RNY on 10/23/03. I have lost 46 pounds so far (from 269 to 223) and am feeling great. People are starting to notice the weight loss, especially in my face. I can eat almost anything and have only been sick three times (once on some cream of crab soup, once on a protein drink and once on three bites of an oreo cookie cream pie). Okay, the last one I deserved. Anyway, behavior modification is a good thing, and I just avoid the foods that I feel will make me sick - which is not much. While I can eat almost anything - I don't each much at any one time. My 7 year old daughter thinks it is funny that mommy eats less than she does. Just this weekend, my hair has started falling out. I am not too happy cause I have thin hair to begin with but that is a small price to pay. I have not been excercising regularly due to time constraints - or just plain laziness, I guess. However, I put my daughter on the swim team at a major sports complex near my house, so while she is swimming an hour and a half 4 days a week, I will be exercising. I saw a spinning class that I think I want to try. Anyway, I am proud of all of you and it makes me feel good to read about your triumphs.

Hi everyone. Today is my 3 month anniversary!! I had a Lap RNY on 10/23/03 and to date have lost 46 pounds. I started at 269 and weigh 223 as of this morning. Things are going good. After hitting a serious plateau and not losing any weight between Thanksgiving and New Years (boy was that frustrating), I have been steadily losing since the first of the year. And even though my hair started coming out this weekend - big gobs of it - I know that I have done the right thing. People are starting to notice the weight loss - especially in my face and starting to ask what I am doing to lose weight. For those who don't know about my surgery, I tell them I am doing the "low carb thing". Those that know about the surgery are very proud of me. I have been lucky, with the exception of 3 occasions, I have not dumped on anything. But the reality is, dumping was so unpleasant, I avoid foods that I know will make me sick. Believe it or not, I can eat almost anything at this point - just not much. My 7 year old daughter thinks it is funny that mommy eats less that she does. Anyway, I am rambling. I would just like to say congrats to all my anniversary buddies and I look forward to hearing from some of you to share triumphs, trials and tribulations. GOD SPEED!!!

Pam from Michigan here. This is my first post. I've been reading for several days now and decided I should go ahead and post. I had Open RNY 10-23-03 and have lost 54 lbs. Well, make that 53, when I weighed on Monday, I had gained a pound. I can't figure that one out but I decided to up my water intake and cut out all carbs which there weren't many to start with. I know I can't get worked up about 1 lb. but it does make me wonder and kind of scares me. I only throw up about 3-4 times per week now and I think most of that is because I am still adding new foods and some of them aren't agreeing with me, like shrimp and raw vegetables. I did get some clothes from a local clothing exchange last week and that is sure helping, most of my clothes are really baggy because when I was 54 lbs heavier, i bought extra big clothes so nobody would see my fat body underneath. Okay, I guess I wrote a book so I'll stop now.. Take care everyone.

Hello all...it is so nice that you did this Tanya. I like to read to see how others are doing. I had my surgery on October 20th and to date (January 20th) I have lost 44 lbs. I go to the gym three nights a week and work on my stationary bike when I can. I also see the weight loss in my rings and in my clothes. It is a wonderful feeling. I do have trouble with some foods, but I am working through that. So what if I can't eat bread, pasta and all that fatening stuff...those are the foods that got me in the state I was in...so I can do without them and it doesn't even bother me. I think the one of the best things about all this is having support from friends and family. I have so much support that it makes the not being able to go "potty" at times bearable...and the not being able to eat the pastas in the sauces and the garlic bread even bearable. So I want to wish you all the best of luck on your journey to the thinner side of the world....I will be looking for you!!!

I can sit with my legs crossed! When I am in a crowded place I am not worried if I can fit through! I love being able to buy clothes in a "normal" size ! I especially love the sale price on smaller clothes! I love the feeling I have when I am done excercising! I am almost able to keep up with my 6 year old! I look forward to physical outtings with my husband and daughter! I am so thankful for this opportunity to experience life again in a much healthier way. I look foward to what's in store!

Hi everyone! Keep up the good work! I had surgery on Oct. 16th. I am down 67 lbs. (55 since surgery) I feel great, my energy level is high. My plantar fasciatis doesn't bother me anymore at all. I have just started losing hair in the past week or so...hoping it doesn't get too carried away! I still have never been sick...but came close when I ate too fast one morning. Getting my exercise in is still my biggest hurdle, but I keep working at it! See you next month! Happy losing! Kathy

Okay, I don't mean to be too graphic but .... I am having great sex!!! I can actually see my feet when I look down. I can get in and out of my little car w/o struggling. Exercise is so very important to me. I have been blessed with a new life - weight loss. I enjoy trying on smaller size clothes. I can actually wear high heels w/o my back hurting. Life is grand- if I had to do this surgery over- I would!
