Toni, Congratualtions on a job well done! Keep up the awesome work. I was three months post- op on the 20th of this month and as of today, I have lost 58 pounds. I'm very excited and people are starting to really notice my weight loss as well. I like your idea about the "low carb diet." I'll have to use that one. I don't have a problem sharing my surgery with those that are close to me, but I don't want to share it with total strangers either. Anyway, take care and God bless!

Toni, welcome to the losing side. I too am three months post op ( three months on the 21st). I'm down 100 lbs and enjoying life. I also avoid the foods that can cause dumping. I eat at the same pace as my one year old, eat a little and make faces at him while he's eating. Take care, Bill

Hi All ! I had my surgery October 30, 2003 and so far no problems. I have lost a total of 65 lbs and just joined the local YMCA and am doing the water aerobics and they have a new 12 week program that they started where they take all your measurements each week or month, weigh you, and give you a person trainer to set up a program to work on and meet with the trainer at the end of each week. The machines there also remember your last work out too. I sometimes feel like I am eating all the time but I must be doing okay. I am working on the water issue. So far so good. It looks like everyone is doing a great job!!!! CONGRATS ALL!

I see lots of people having problems with protein shakes, Try Isopure. The pre maid ones are to strong but the powder mixes well and there are several flavers. I get mine at GNC, hope this may help.

I really like reading the posts because it lets me know I am not alone. Believe it or not, I was on the longest plateau known to man - I did not lose a pound from Thanksgiving to New Years. I was so frustrated and began to think that I could lose more weight doing Atkins or the South Beach diet. Anyway, since New Year's Day, I have started losing and have been losing steadily since. I have lost almost 10 pounds since January 1st and have lost a total of 46 pounds (today is my 3 month anniversary). Also, water was my best friend before the surgery and I find myself forcing myself to drink enough now. Congratulations on your sucess and keep being a loser.

Topic: RE: Going on month three post-op
Hi there. I had a LAP RNY on 10/23/03 and today is my 3 month anniversary. I have lost 43 pounds and though it may not be as fast as others, I am proud. My surgeon said that if you start out smaller, your weight loss will be slower that someone who was heavier to begin with. Also, slow and steady weight loss is better for the skin (may keep it from sagging and bagging like a rapid weight loss would). Anyway keep up the good work and answer this question - when is the last time you lost 53 pounds in less that 4 months!!!
