Hi Susan, I think were all doing pretty darn good! My surgery was October 22nd and I have lost 62 lbs. too. I feel so good now! WLS was the best thing I have ever done for myself without a doubt. My only worry is that my losing will just stop. Do you ever feel that way too? I guess its just my old self doubts thinking there is now way I can accomplish this. Congrats on your loss!

Ann, I think that is a great idea for a 6th grader. It would be easy to get data from WLS on this site since many of us log our weight loss, but it may be harder to get comparison data from other diet methods. Good for her! Tonight I found myself standing on 1 foot with my arms up trying not to fall for my 4th graders science project. He is doing "Does age affect balance?"
Happy 2.

I had my 3 month checkup today. I have lost 58 pounds. My husband is a pastor at our church and some of the men are saying, "Wow, you're looking good." Is that wierd or what? I'm like, um, we're in CHURCH. I'm just kidding though. It's all in fun. I feel so good and just being under 200 pounds now is worth is all. I have 48 to go. I'm in normal sizes and now can't wait to get in size 12. That's my next major goal. Life is good.

Ann, I think it is a wonderful idea. I have a 6 year old and she knows as much about WLS as I do and I think it is wonderful. Knowledge is power. Tanya

My daughter has been assigned a science fair prject for 6th grade.(this is our first) She wants to do it on my WLS..Is that a good idea? She wants to interview people who had surgery and make people aware and how proud she is of me and our struggles.. Any suggestions or input... I do not want this to be to technical but want her and others to learn. I tried to relate it to her like does watching TV make you Obese? She wants Does having Gastric Bypass Surgery make you lose weight faster and how much.. I am honored but I am wondering if over her head.. Thanks for suggestions and ideas.... Hi everyone, I am so glad to hear your updates. Just had to let you all know that today is my three month anniversary. I weigh 54 lbs. lighter. I fill wonderful most of the time. People have started noticing my loss, and that sure is a great filling. My clothes are starting to really get baggie on me (yeah!) but the elastic is keeping them up for now. I'm able to sit in a normal size chair with out filling like I'm going to break the chair. My skin is clear for the first time in years,(I'm not eating all that junk that I use to). My biggest problem is that I still have problems eating too fast. I have gotten a lot better at it though, I haven't thown up for a month. I take my vitiams like I should, but don't drink my protien, all the time, like I should, my hair hasn't fell out, I bet I will be good at it if it starts. I have regreted my decision about 2 hrs. out of the last 3 months. For the most part I am very very happy that things have worked out the way they did. Hope everyone else has mostly good things happening. By the way I love this site. You are right Tanya, Life is good! Thank you all for being there. Susan

Well, I am three months out and feeling 100% better, I weighed in at 262 and I now weigh 200lbs, I thought I was doing something wrong, I wasn't sure were I was suppose to be-or if there is some sort of guide line. I have actually had a pretty easy time, I was just extremely tired the first month out, I do still get tired every now and then in the after noon. I just hope I am were I am suppose to be, because I thought I was losing too slowly. Susan R.
