Oh that's what I'm doing right now. As some of you may know I was the Top Walker for the American Heart Association and won a trip to Hawaii, which I will be leaving for here in a few weeks. I'm in my gf's wedding. So she bought a bunch of tans and wanted me to "toughen" up before we went. Well, I ran out of the house without my suit and told her I was just going to tan in my bra and undies. She told me to go naked. I told her I couldn't do the top half because the girls flop to the side and I'd have white circles on my arms, and if I did a stand up, I'd have half moons under my top. So I kept my bra on and ditched the undies. HUGE MISTAKE LADIES AND GENTS!!! I didn't look as if I had much color after I did it, but about 3 hours later, I started to feel hot and burnie. So I went to the bathroom and dropped my drawers. AHHHHH!!!! Ya know I thought it was a bad idea when I did it, but did it anyway. I have sunburn on my ass so bad (what did I think, I don't think I've ever had sun touch that spot.) that I'm applying aloe vera gel everywhere that the sun never shines. Just be cautious when tanning!!! I have to lay on my tummy for darn near the entire day because my tuckus hurts so freakin bad!!!

I was down 110 pounds ...from 250 to 140. I went from a size 22 to a comfortable 10. Unfortunately, I did gain 5 pounds between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I know that this was due to not exercising as much and no****hcing my eating habits like I should have been doing. I have lost 3 of those pounds and have about 10 pounds to my goal weight. This was a real wake up for me....I need to be more aware and be able to nip things early. Fortunately, I won't need any plastic surgery when I am done with the weight loss. I also started my weight strengthening class again last week. I recently got involved in a new relationship several months ago which has been a wonderful thing but, also has let me get a little careless. He is wonderful support who knows that I have been struggling a little lately. I also need to get back involved with this board. I find all of you to be very supportive and caring...so, thanks in advance for all the support! Deb 250/143

Hi Kathy, I'm also maintaining at 115 down 108lb from a size 22 to a 4. I'm going under the knife Tuesday (Jan 11) to get rid of my excess skin (arms, belly and thighs) so maybe there will be a few more pounds gone. I took some before PS pictures and IIIIKKKKEEEeee, though I'm scared about the surgery those pictures were even more scary ... wish me luck. Congrats to everyone. Lucie

Nothing interesting going on here. I'm maintaining weight in the middle of my normal weight range. My normal range is 181 to 207. I'm at 190 lbs this morning. My family has had a bout of stomach flu which has effected me too. I've only been able to keep down simple foods for the past several days. Unsweetened Cereal (Total Protein) and Jello. The good news is this has gotten me to drop those five pounds I picked up over the holidays eating Christmas Cookies and such! Hugs all around Joe

Hi, Been a while since I have been on here. Since 10/03 I have bottomed out at 173 and have come back up to around 200 which the surgeon had said would happen. No more sleep apnea, no more insulin, lots of energy. Do a lot of cooking. Collect recipes. Keep busy now. Haven't spent any time on a couch since surgery. I think the cooking was a type of therapy for me - at least I got to see other people enjoying food. That's about it. Lester

Topic: Twisted and kinky!
Hi everyone, Well, I really thought that I was out of the woods so to speak regarding complications at almost 15 months out. Right around my year visit to my surgeon, I experienced a bad pain in the middle of my chest just under my sterum. It felt like food was stuck but not were it does when you eat dry food or eat too fast. It radiated around to my back and made me want to try to go to the bathroom and throw up but couldn't. So she said to let her know if it happens again because she has seen people around 18 mos post-op develope kinks in the intestines right outside the new pouch. (RNY) She also said that it happens because we loose all the fat cells that were holding it in place so it kinks or twists. So, low and behold it did it again. This time I thought it was the stomach flu because everyone in my house seems to have stomach aches. After 4 hours of girgling and burping in tremendous pain I woke my husband and off we go to the ER. (same pain has my gall bladder before it was removed 10 years ago.) Well, I ended up having a twisted and kinky intestines fixed Lap. on Tues and am home now. Luckily she just had to anchor it in place so it would twist. Well, I'm rambling thanks to pain med. but thought I would share in case any of you experience it.
