OK Well let's start off with the vitamins. I do take them everyday but in the beginning I had a hard time with pills SO I took chew ones, and there is a liquid b-12 at GNC. Try them and see what happens. As far as coming up on 4 months and not really losing I went through a time when that happened to me I was even going to the gym however it passed and now I am doing 5 pounds a week but I am making sure I drink 80 ozs of water a day. That is when I loss the weight. I really do not get 1000 calories a day I am more about what you get but that is also because I do drink a lot of water so I really do not have the room. I hope I help some if not I am sorry Just remember keep trying. This was the best gift we could of gave ourselves.

I take mine religously! At first I was having a hard time, and also was "guesssing" on my protein and water. Then I decided I better buckle down and get serious about this! I had made the commitment to do this right, so now's the time. I also don't want to risk having problems further down the line because I didn't following the rules now. Anyway, I keep a daily "diary" that lists each of my vitamins (I check them off once I've taken them), type and length of exercise, protein grams, ounces of water drank, and what foods I ate. I also record my weight on the days I weigh. Anyway, it has really helped me stay focused and be honest with myself. There have been a couple days when I really needed to have another protein drink before bed, but was too tired...but 99% of the time I get it all in. I'm REALLY trying to teach myself self-discipline. It's a new thing for me! I lose 12 - 16 lbs. per month nowadays and I'm down 74 lbs. so far! Good Luck! Kathy

Hi, Virginia. My name is Rose. My surgery was also on 10/28. I love it too. I had sleep apnea, hypoglycemia, a heart condition, and arthritis in both knees. I had blood work done on 1/16, and, guess what? Everything is perfect. I also turned in my sleep machine at the end of January. I have not needed it since a month out of surgery. I've lost about the same amount, but am still in the 3x clothes because most of my weight was in my stomach and it is taking it's sweet ttime going away. Im being patient though. Good luck!

I have taken vitamins maybe 4 different times since surgery. My doctor chews me out about it, but the after taste makes me sick. I also have not taken any asthma meds since surgery and I'm suppose to be taking a thyroid, but that doesnt happen very often. The only thing I do good is I drink a hot choc with a scoop of protein in it every morning. My labs on 1/22 all came back good so she did not even add the B12. I did have a thyroid a few weeks ago and it showed I should be taking my pill. As for wt, I'm at a horrid plateau that wont budge. Marilyn Lap RnY 10/22 362/298/??

WHEW!!! I thought I was the only bad one not taking my vitamins on a daily basis. I try too though. The only vitamins I take are Calcium chews (cherry flavor, very yummy) and B12 both from GNC. I might take these 3 days out of the week (when I remember) Im really bad on that protein. I dont drink any at all but I try to supliment w/ other high protein foods. I've also almost comletely eliminated all carbs. I might do a little here and there once a week or so, but hardly any. So far my hair has not fallen out and my nails are really strong. As of today, I am down 67 lbs. Im averaging about 2-3 lbs. a week. Every week I say to myself, this week I'll do better and it doesnt happen. Best of luck to you and thanks for the post. Hi all October pals, I am down 65 pounds now and feeling great! This has been wonderful. The only thing I really need to work on is making it to the gym EVERY day to exercise. My only complaint is I am loosing hair like crazy right now. Oh well, it is a small price to pay. Today is my 48th birthday and I don't think I have looked this good in 30 years!!! Candy

Hi, Congrats to all! Isn't this a wonderful feeling? I am on the ride of my life. I have lost 72 pounds, and feel great. The only time I get sick is when I eat too fast, or too much. My 3 month bloodwork came back with all levels being fine, and the only health complaint I have is my hair falling out. It can stop just anytime now!! Oh well, the compliments are really starting to come, so it's a trade-off. Stacy McClain 310/238/150 open RNY 10-1-03

Man, was I glad to hear from you. I am horrible about my meds. I don't count calories or protien. I know that I eat right and most meals only protien. I take a children's chewable vitamine about every other day. Other than that, maybe once a week or so I take an iron pill. I am suposed to take Actigal so I won't have to have my gull bladder taken out. I hate that pill. I had my blood taken last week and haven't heard anything, so everything must be ok. I feel great, but am loosing my hair. Karen

Ann, Feb 20 will be my 4 month post op and every day I take my required meds, tums, and vitamins without any problems. When I think about the many other pills that distracted my lifestyle before, these few requirements are necessary for a better tomorrow. As far as calories, I don't really watch them; every doctor is different, mine wants me to concentrate on getting all my proteins in before carbs. I eat my proteins first and try to limit my carbs to two per day (like a 1/4 cup of potato and a small bowl of cereal). I find it difficult to eat a regular sandwich, so usually I just make a salad with added protein like tuna, crabmeat etc. I have had the new Subway wraps. They are good. Weight loss for me has been good. I have already gone beyond the 100lb mark, I'm averaging roughly five pounds per week but you may lose less (they say women tend to lose weight slower than men, sorry). Hope this helps you in any way. Best of luck to you. Bill
