Topic: How much can you eat now???
I am overdoing it I think. I eat about 1 cup in all... tonight's supper was a small chicken thigh, 1/2 medium potatoe, 1/4 cup Green beans and 1 broccoli spear. Then 1 hour later 1/16 of a 9" pie - cheesecake with strawberries in glaze and a squirt of whipped topping. What do ya'll think? To much? I don't know. It seems like a lot, but when i write it down not much at all... hmmm. Let me know what your able to eat now. Thanks Judy 10-13-03 233/163/130

The third dilation of my stomach/intestine opening back in late January was very rough and affected my stomach's ability to tolerate a lot of foods. Pretty much my days are as follows. 6AM-Noon Water and water-soluble (Benefiber) intake time. 32oz 1-2 cups coffee with 1 sweetnlow and 1 tsp coffeemate 26 g protein shake in 6 oz skim milk Noon-2PM 3-4oz canned chicken, turkey. 2PM-4PM 16 oz water 4PM-6PM 1/2 cup cottage cheese some days with 1/2 cup SF jello added. 6 PM-Bedtime 26 g protein shake in 6 oz skim milk 1 small container of lite yogurt 16 oz water
Happy 2.

Topic: RE: HELP PLEASE!! Extreme Nausea after 5 months!
Hi Jennifer, I know just how you feel. What makes me sick is foods with high sugar and fat or anything that is high in carbs. It's weird because I dont actually dump, instead I get extremely lethargic where I just want to lay down and sleep. After a few minutes, the most 1/2 hr, I feel alot better. Another thing that happens right after is that I thirst really bad for water. Lately it seems like my pouch has gotten smaller, I cant take in as much food. I've only dumped once since surgery and that was a few weeks ago when I had some bannana chips. I didnt eat very much but just as they went down, they came back up. Go figure! Hello Jennifer! I'm about 5 months out, too, and have had some nausea of late. Like you, I had no dumping, nausea, nothing I couldn't eat after surgery. (I have not eaten anything sugary) I made myself "back up" a bit. I became more mindful of my chewing, how fast I was eating, and I started measuring again. I still record everything I eat and how I feel after eating. I have figured out that at this point I can't eat leftovers very easily... I don't know why-- it seems so stupid! Fried chicken, even without the batter coating, makes me nauseous. You'd think I'd know these things right off the bat, but writing it all down makes it crystal clear. I encourage you to call your physician if this continues for more than a few days... I hope this situation resolves itself for you, soon!

Topic: RE: Hi My October Friends
I, too, love my scales. Especially when I see the weight coming off. But I gained 5 pounds 2 weeks ago. I do this about every 2 months, then it goes back down. I just try to keep going. It will come off too.

Topic: RE: Plateau, Plateau, Plateau
I have slowed down to about 10-15 pounds a month at this point. I approached my dr and she said it was good. That the plateau is to give our bodys time to catch up with our weight loss. she said it keeps the skin from sagging so bad when we slow and reach plateaus. I am also very frustrated when it happens, and it does. But I try to remember that slow is still losing. I have heard it so many times it makes me crazy, but it is true.......We did not gain it all in a day. We can't expect it to come off in a day. Patience, my friends. We are all going to be knockouts VERY SOON.......

You're not alone. I have to watch sugar very carefully. Also, anything beef, greasy, or anything that makes me gassy. I had surgery October 28th, and began having nausea issues immediately. I found out, in January, that it had been due to some medicine that I was taking. We got that straight, then I was ok. I don't have many things that I can't eat, including sugary foods, darn it. But the ones I listed still make me nauseated. Good luck. It's worth it. You're never alone. I have found that out myself.

Topic: HELP PLEASE!! Extreme Nausea after 5 months!
Hi everyone, Could someone PLEASE help me?? I had the Open RNY October 17, 2003 and have done beautifully until about a month ago. I RARELY got sick and rarely had dumping at all. I was able to eat just about anything I wanted (just not much of it of course) and then all of a sudden, every time I eat I get EXTREMELY nauseous...to the point of being able to do nothing but cry and moan and then fall asleep, but I don't actually throw up or have diareah...? What is going on?? I was put on Iron tablets and I know they make a lot of people sick so I stopped them, and I had been eating a bit more carbs than I was supposed to so I stopped that and it hasn't changed anything. I can't go on like this... has this happened to anyone else before??? Thank you all for your time. Jennifer Jenkins
