I'll add my two cents to this. I was on a big plateau for a few weeks but have finally broken it. I was stuck on 203, just couldn't seem to get under 200lbs but I finally did it! I'm 193 right now and can't wait to see 180's. I didn't do anything differenly but increase my protein by eating more meat, just a small bit two extra times a day and that seemed to help. Am I the only one feeling really geeky about how I am reacting to this weight loss? I am just amazed at the feeling of losing this weight. It's the greatest thing on earth isn't it??? I look at myself in a full length mirror and am astonished at the new me. I get so excited thinking about how far I'm going to go.

Topic: First trip home!!!
Well everyone was blown away with my weight loss. I truly can not see it but they say that I look fabulous. I was happy to see the little things like the seat belt on the plane fit me with room to spare!!!! I fit on my own seat cusion!!!!! I can fit comfortably in my moms dining room chairs!! I even had some guy tripping over himself at the airport to help me!! Imagine that woman with TWO kids and the guy practically ran across the parking lot to help me with my bags!!! Put a smile on my face all darn day long (too boot he was GORGEOUS!).
Thanks for letting me share!

Oh how happy I'am to have found this I have been on a plateau for about 4-5 weeks, well I can't say that long I will loss a lb or 2 then go between them for about a week or 2 then down again. I have lost only 4 lbs in the past 4 weeks and I'm used to doing any where from 10 - 15 in a month. It has been very discuraging I thought it had stopped and I was doing something wrong. This isn't going to sound right but I'm glade you guys are all having the same trouble at the same time, because I know it's not me and I didn't do anything wrong. I wish you all the best and I bet we will all be writting back saying it finally started up again around the same time.
Topic: RE: How much can you eat now???
When I read how much others can eat who had the surgery the same time I did, I feel like a freak! I'm still not able to eat much. This was my whole food list for yesterday: 8 oz Crystal Light mixed with unflavored Unjury protein powder, one handful trail mix, 2 grilled shrimp, one bite of chili, 2 french fries. And I threw up the dinner, so that doesn't really count as food intake (that was the shrimp, chili and fries.) That's pretty much usual for me a day. I try to drink as much as I can, but even that makes me nauseous. I throw up just about everything (I've had 3 strictures and just had a CAT scan yesterday, so the doc is working on my problem.) But still, I miss eating!

Hey, Renita!! Welcome. Just wait until you get in the normal sizes. It's so much fun. I am like 2 sizes smaller on the top though. I feel lopsided, but everyone says I look good. I'm a pear for sure. Karen

Hi Judy! That seems like an awful lot to me, however, I don't know how much you ate before your surgery so maybe it's a great feat. As my surgeon told me, the surgery is also about making lifestyle changes, not to see how much you can eat after the reduction. I, personally, would have left out the potato and pie. You don't need them. Eat your protein first, as much as you can, and then eat the vegetables. Drink lots of water in between. It's been 5 months and 87 pounds since my surgery. For example, I am able to eat about a 1/4 cup of cottage cheese or a small protein shake (6 to 8 ounces) in the morning. In the afternoon, (late noon) a small tuna or chicken or taco salad, about a 1/2 cup at most, or a 1/2 cup of soup. By the evening I am still full and will often finish my luncheon salad if I can fit it. I have cut out any snacking and have chosen to eliminate carbs almost altogether. You know though, we are all different, and as long as you are losing weight and making healthy choices, you'll be successful.

Hey there...I just found this board too...think I knew it was here a few months back but then it slipped my mind that it was here. We've got the same surgery date...I'm down 86 pounds so you're two up on me. I feel like it's coming off soooo slowly but know that if I would get really consistent with my workouts it would come off faster. I eat between 500-800 calories a day ****asionally get up to around 1000) and have about 30 carbs, between 70 - 100 g of protein and I drink at least 80 oz. of water daily...religious with my vitamines. I just need a kick in the butt to get my workouts into gear I guess!!!!

I myself did not know this board was here! I just happen to look to left of the screen and there it was. I had surgery Oct 14,03. I have lost 88 lbs (WOOOHOOO) But I am having a terrible time finding clothes. I guess I look like an egg with LEGS!!!!
(down to a 22/24 from a tight 30/32) Tops are too tight and pants are too big. It is driving me insane. So I said screw it, I will wear t-shirts and shorts until I get past this akward stage. How is everyone else coming along?
