Topic: What about the Pill?
Hi Everyone! I am having trouble with my period. I've always had issues with spotting/bleeding, so I've been on the pill for years. I had to go off last August to prep for surgery in October. Everything was going fine until this month! I got my period March 7-11, and was on schedule. Then, I started spotting on March 15th, and haven't quit! Some days are heavier than others. This morning I awoke and was soaked through, even a big spot on my bed! (sorry if this is too much info... but we're all "sistahs") Anyway, I want to go back on the pill to get this under control AND for ease of birth control. I'm 44 years old, and I don't smoke. My blood pressure is controlled and my diabetes is gone, thanks to WLS! Is it okay for me to go back to the pill? Will it slow down my weight loss??? Oh, and the most important thing: I've lost 98 lbs! Not long now 'til 100 lbs! Hopefully next week... I'll be posting then for sure! I started at a BMI of 53. Surgery date was 10-13-03. Love and blessings to all of you-- you are the most courageous and hopeful people in the world as far as I'm concerned!

Renita, Were not the most active bunch, but when the roll call hits you can count on about 30+ to respond. It is always fun to compare what others are doing. I find i am "normal" for the most part when i read their post. Keep checking back with us... Judy

Hey, at least you sat on your bed and didn't climb back into it. Acknowledging the mistake is the first step to recovery, lol. You will do just fine. Hope your cold gets better. Drink, drink, drink!!!! Karen

Hey All, I took some cold medicine last night, so when the alarm went off this morning for me to get up and do my walk away the pounds. You know what I did? I sat on the end of the bed and jus****ched Away the Pounds. Does that count? I am sooo bad. I will get myself together and do my work out later, just need some encouragement. Adrienne

I am here in the same boat. My plateau lasted about 5 weeks. Now it is starting to come off. I think that this is where I was at for a long time on my way up the scale. Thanks for posting, cause now I don't feel so bad. Teri RNY 10/14/04 247/178

Topic: RE: Well, Hello fellow losers!!!!
Glad you are doing well. I had my lap RNY on oct1 and have lost85 pounds. I am down to 223 from 308. My personal goal of 199 is not far off. I dont have many clothes either. I dont want to buy much until I stop losing. I have gone from size 52 pants to size 40. In shirts I wore 2X and now a large fits. I felt so good in november and december, but lately I dont feel well. I went to my pcp yesterday, I think my iron or potassium or something is too low. I was so looking forward to feeling and I am disapointed I feel lousy. At least I have lost enough weight that I can now qualify for a heart transplant. I have heart failure and I think I will need a new heart down the road. My poor heart is just about shot. I am glad I am losing as much as everyone else because I cant exercise much.
