Wow! I did my BMI. I am a 29.5. That isn't even obese at all. It is only overweight. Cool! Karen

I was a 41 BMI. I had to gain 6 pounds to get to that. My insurance wouldn't do it at a 40. I don't know what I am now. I am 5'6" and weigh 183 pounds. Karen

Catherine,
I'm so excited to hear that your recent diet modifications have been such a success! You are going to get that 80 lbs off in record time AND be healthier than ever before. Good for you! I'm proud of you.

Judy,
I'm not as concerned about the amount as much as I am the content. Why the heck are you eating cheesecake? The sugar in it should make you dump and it certainly does nothing to promote your weight loss or change in dietary habits.
When you research the habits of high successful long time post-ops, you learn that most subscribe to the 1/2 cup philosophy at our stage.
Also remember...just because you CAN eat more now doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Welcome Susan,
You are doing great! It's never too early to start documenting rashes, etc. for plastics down the road. Take pictures of the rashes too.
I'm very careful about my diet too. Sugar must be no more than single digits...carbs no more than 20 per day. Protein more than 60 grams per day from food. (I get another 60 grams from my protein shakes.)
When I look at a label, it has to have more protein than carbs or I won't touch it. Then I look at the sugar. More than 6? No way.
I don't do anything white except cottage cheese. No milk, sugar, bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, flour. Don't do fruit because of the high sugar content. I don't subscribe to the 3 meals a day & two snacks philosophy. Some days I might do that, others I might only eat twice.
In addition to my food and protein, I take calcium citrate, carbonyl iron, vit c, vit d, vit a, biotin, zinc, Centrum Complete multis and b-12 sublinguals.
Life is good. I hit the century club before 5 months. Have never lost a single strand of hair. Have never been hungry. Never went through the hibernation phase. Never had nausea, food problems, etc. Never had a plateau but have spent time at certain "steps" before losing again. Was a 26/28...now I'm in 16's.

Judy,
I was 49.6. Now am 34. Was 317 lbs, now am 215 lbs. Woo hoo!! I hope to get down to 175 which is reasonable for my height 5"7" and age 55. I don't think older women look very good when they are too thin.
