Yes... they're baaaaaack! I had my surgery on October 13th, 2003. I had my first actual "hungry feelings" about 3-4 weeks ago. It felt so odd! My doctor told me they'd come back. I read an article from the magazine published by this site that said to eat a bite or two of undercooked rice or slightly undercooked pasta with meals to make the small meal "stick with you" longer. Also, they suggested drinking a small glass of water as fast as you can to get that "full" feeling back. When I feel hungry and it's not time to eat I drink something like a diet soda or Crystal Light. That usually does it for me.

Hello everybody.
I am doing really good and feeling really grateful. I am down 131 pounds since 10/2/2003. I started in a size 30-32 shirt and 26-68 pants (stretched all they hold) and now I am in an XL shirt and some 18s and some 20s in pants. My hair is still falling out some but I have increased my protein, am taking vitamins for the hair, zinc, calcium, and One Source prenatal vitamins. I try to walk three times a week but don't always succeed. I do give in to that head hunger sometimes and it is driving me nuts. I just have to remember this is a tool and not a cure.
Thanks for letting me share with you guys.

Stacy,
I can completely relate to your post! My surgery was 10/24 and I started at 250. I am now at 179 and so close to my goal, I can taste it...LOL My weight loss has slowed down so much; at times it gets discouraging. I have to remember where I was 6 months ago and all the benefits I have gained in the past 6 months. I still haven't had any bread, rice or pasta...which hasn't been too hard. Also, diet soda has not passed my lips....prior to surgery I was a diet coke fiend. I do at times miss my old "vices' but, then I remember all the things I have gained by not giving in to the old ways. I work out daily on my treadmill and I also take a weight strengthening class once a week. I love life and love shopping maybe even more...LOL Hang in there...we are ALL winners!!!

Yep, I had the first hunger pangs about 3 wks ago---I had my surgery on 10-23-03--I had the ***I'm starving feeling***--then after eating a few bites of protein (chicken) the feeling of being satisified was back! Phew!! It scared me for a moment---I never want that insationable hunger to ever come back.

Last night I had the STRANGEST feeling hit me. It was so weird I wasn't even sure what it was....then I realized what it was....I actually felt HUNGRY! I haven't felt hungry since the morning of 10/31/03. Mind you today, I do not feel that way. It was just so weird, so alien to me. I know we won't keep the "hungries" away forever, but it was such a shock.
Has this happened to you and if yes....WHEN!

Hello everyone.
Congratulations to everyone's success. You all are doing so very good.
I had my surgery on OCT 28th. I'm down 81 lbs. I feel like I'm stuck here
now. I guess it's my turn to experience the platau that others have
posted about. I'm going to stay positive and focused. But sometimes
when you get on the scale that is not moving it get discouraging.
I'm trying to up my protien with out upping my calorie intake.
Water Water Water is my best friend. And I'm exercising more. So
Hopefully in the next week or so my scale will start moving again.
I have not measured so I don't know if I'm losing inches. My clothes
do feel very loose so I am sure that I am. I'm still wearing my old
loose clothes because I just have not gotten past that mental feeling
of un-happiness I used to feel when ever I went into clothes stores.
So I just stay away. I'm still planning a shopping spree and makeover
sometime in August before my 20 yr high school reunion.
Keep up the Great work everyone.

Hi all,
Congratulation to everyone isn't it wonderful, I had my surgery on the 10/16/03 and have lost a total of 81 lb Woohoo! I also find that my appetite is coming back, and I must admit it scares me a little, but I certainly can't eat like I used to. I'm 20 lb from my goal of 122, I go to Curves 3 times a week and use my elliptic trainer on the "off" days. I think what I enjoy the most is being able to shop in "normal" stores... bye bye Lane Bryant.

Everybody is doing so good!!! I have lost a total of 73 lbs and finally wearing a size 12 in dresses and pants. I started at 230 now at 157, and I'm 5' 2". I'm exercising everyday at gym walking on treadmill about 3 miles at lunch. I really wish I'd lose a little bit faster, but I'm not going to complain. I'm so much better than I was before.
