Rikka, There is an unflavored high quality blended whey protein powder called Pro Cel that can be added to hot things. (Most protein will become unstable in hot drinks/foods & therefore useless.) Go to www.vitalady.com and read about it. Sandra

Hi all I was hoping that someone could help me with this: I want to know if I put 1 and a half scoops of unflavored protein powder in my coffeE grounds in the morning before I brew it will I still be getting the protein or will it suck up into the cofee grounds???? I know this sounds like a dumb question but I need my cofee in the morning and I also need my pretein and my new tummy won't let me do both...... Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!! Thank You Rikka

I am a "remedial" loser. Down 65# since 10-28-03 (started at 295#, now at 230#). No "honors" losing for me. (Yes, this does bug me.) I must say I'm discouraged. I've followed my surgeon's directions to a "T" and have been exercising 60 min/day, 5x per week. I almost didn't post here. It's kind of embarrassing to be so far behind the curve. I'd love to hear from anyone else who's a slow loser. I'd be okay with losing slowly if I knew it'd all come off. It seems like I can and always could eat a lot more than others as far out as me. I've NEVER thrown up since surgery, and no, things don't get stuck. I'm starting to be concerned I may have a stretched stoma. I see my doc in a few weeks for my 6-month check up. I'll ask him then. Catherine, Come over here and let me smack you upside the head! Why do you want to mess up a good thing by eating something that is NOT good for you? There is a direct connection between people who encourage the development of a "sweet taste" and a significant regain within five years of surgery. There's NOTHING that tastes as good as losing 107 lbs in less than six months feels. Please reconsider. Sandra

I had my open Rny on 10/10/03, My Dr is happy with my weight loss of 88 lbs,,I think some drs look at some chart that says you should lose X amount of lbs in a certian time frame,,,I would not be stressing about it,,,any you lose is some and it helps,,just keep on track and it will keep coming off,,we all dont lose as fast and the experts say. Hi Stacy, It felt so good reading your post finding out that I am not the only one who has the fear but I think I am making peace with myself. I am 6 months post-op and have lost a total of 71 lbs. My surgeon said that he is disappointed and I should have lost 80% of my excess weight by this time. I on the other hand am very happy with how much I have lost. According to the weight loss planner it looks like I am on target to lose about 100 lbs and that would be fine with me. That would be a weight that I haven't been in well over 20 years. I would love to reach my doctor's goal of 140 but if that means depriving myself and not enjoying life then wherever I stop is fine with me. Carol Beck 282/211/140?? Lap RNY 10/8/03
