Topic: RE: I NEED A KICK IN THE BUTT!
Hey Renita we all get down and out sometimes the most important thing is that you acknowledged there's an exercise problem. Start off slow just walking around the block a few times and then go from there. Set yourself up on a schedule and try and stick to it. I get up at 5am M-F just to get on the treadmill for 45 minutes. Thats the only time of the day that I have to exercise because I am a full time student (19 credits this quarter) and I have 4 children so you know my days can be hectic. But if I don't get up 1 day out of the week I don't get mad I just make sure that I don't get lazy. Also you can check and see if there is some sort of walk club in your neighborhood or at your local mall. I met a WLS man that was less than a year out and he had lost about 135 pounds and was nice and toned and the only exercise that he got was going to the YMCA swimming for an hour 3 times a week. I sure wish I could fit that in my schedule. But anyway just start off slow and don't compare yourself to others and you will be fine.

Topic: I'm Blue...
Okay, I've felt so down in the dumps these past few days that now I'm starting to get concerned. I rarely feel depressed. Especially now that I'm looking and feeling (physically) good. SO what's up with me? Do you all have these bouts too? It's just not in my character. I hate it. Deneise RNY 10/31/03 257/171/157

Topic: RE: PLS RESPOND ASAP....SURGERY CANCELLED
Hi Eva I am sorry that your brother is going through this but I don't know anything that he could do to get his blood pressure down. Maybe he can relax that always helps. Also he needs to make sure that they are using a big cuff to take his blood pressure because if they are using a cuff that is to little then they could be getting an inaccurate reading. I hope this helps. Rikka

Eva, I don't have any experience or advice. All I can say is that it's good they cancelled until they get your brother where they want him. You don't want him going into surgery not fully healthy. I'll keep you both in my prayers. Good luck and God Bless Deneise RNY 10/31/03 257/171/157

Renita, If there is any kicking to be done it wont come from me. I also do not exercise like I was told to. NO TIME... I am doing great at the weight loss and my body fat is going down not the muscle as my doc checks it every time I see him to "make sure" I am loosing the right stuff. Some of us live an active life and some don't. I am on the go constantly with my job and family. You have lost a tremendous amount of weight in 6 months. You seem to be feeling great. Take pride in those accomplishments and get off the guilt trip because you're not exercising. I'll bet that when you get below 200 you will feel more like "moving that body". I just recently "climbed a mountain... for real... a mountain". I hiked up to the Appalachian Trail. I never could have done that 6 months ago. I used to have so much joint pain it was a chore getting out of bed in the morning. I tracked up that mountain like it was nothing. Promise... it will get better and you will feel like doing more in a few more pounds. Don't beat yourself up over it... you are doing just fine. Take Care... Judy Lap RNY 10/13/03 233/158/130
